Pretty sure you don't lose points if its outta state for military. I have my residence in the state I was stationed in so that wouldn't work for me...I have, however, received a couple tickets in different states - no point and also insurance isn't notified. Just pay the fine and go on. Totally cool with me!

My brother boasted that he never gets speeding tickets. His son is the county sheriff where they live. The sheriff's department gives relatives a card for their wallet. They show that card and most of the time they are just told to slow down.
He finally got a ticket for speeding in Wisconsin. Cop wasn't moved by the card.
Be the way, my brother lives in South Carolina (Nuff Said LOL).

Race Red GT owner here. Got my first speeding ticket in 5 years. (Not proud of it) oh well there is a first time for everything.

The cop was super nice and kind. So the cop pulls me over and first thing he does is compliments on how gorgeous the car looked. Then he went on and said "I know it's a 2015 stang, new one, haven't seen one on the streets yet and I know you were probably testing it out a little but please be careful next time"
I respect the authorities more when they treat you nice like a human being and not give you attitude even when you are being respectful.

Conclusion is I knew I was at fault for 5 seconds and those 5 seconds cost me almost $200. I still feel the cop was way too far from me when I did speed up for those 5 seconds but oh well I didn't feel like arguing with him and accept it was my fault. I went 26 over the highway speed limit..

Am I the first one here to get a speeding ticket in the new mustang? :headbonk:
Do you have a top of the line radar detector, like Valentine One? I don't leave home without mine. Also Cruise Control can be a man's best friend. I try use it as much as possible to ensure I don't go too fast without knowing. My last ticket I got was about 14 years ago and I was doing 100 in a 65 zone. I had my radar detector but didn't do much good since when he clocked me I couldnt' have slowed down fast enough and that was in an 91 Acura Legend Coupe. LOL

I think cruise control goes a long way, and Active Cruise is even better. My commute has been a 65mph freeway with elevation changes and curves - it really pays to be staring at the road, not at your spedo. I see people head downhill at 80-85mph all the time, and I'm sure they're not intentionally speeding, they just can't keep the needle at 65. If you set your cruise to 60-65, inevitably someone ducks in front of you and does 55, so you have to adjust, then someone else merges while you're going downhill, etc...I did the commute once with a buddy's MDX and the active cruise was brilliant, and I hope it'll be the same on my new Mustang.

I've been thinking about getting a radar detector. It's not because I want to speed; it's just the police in my suburb are known for pulling people over for doing 33 in a 30 (revenue boost). 9 times out of 10 I'm sure I'm doing under 30, but 1 time out of 10 I might be watching the crosswalk while going downhill and I really don't want the resulting ticket, so a radar detector would be a good safety net (how's that for irony?).

So far I'm ticketless, but I'm pretty sure every officer in Houston sees me in my little hatchback and figures I couldn't be a habitual speeder or I'd have a faster car :p won't be so with the GT...

The two speeding tickets I have gotten in my life have been when driving red cars. I really like Ruby Red on the 2015 but, I didn't want to get a red sports car.

Ya, I know, everyone has an opinion on the whole red car speeding tickets thing, and there have been some limited studied attempting to disprove it. But I believe there is solid psychology around red and just don't feel the need to take the risk.

I like Guard too.

I can only relate my own experience. I bought a 2006 Mustang in Redfire Metallic (slightly darker than Ruby, but similar color family).

Several of my friends had reactions along the lines of "wow, you must like talking to cops!"

I drove that car for 8 years and 10 months, put just shy of 190,000 miles on it, and was pulled over 5 times.

First time was for a supposed illegal u-turn. The cop freely admitted that there was no sign preventing it, but kept going on and on about how a motorcyclist had gotten hit the week before doing the same thing, and it "just wasn't safe". I was literally saying "I get it. Stop talking. Just write the ticket. We can let the judge decide." He chose to "let me off with a warning".

Second time was for speeding - 60 in a 45 zone (construction). Cop says "What's your hurry, did you not notice that the speed limit dropped to 45 about 1/4 mile back? This is still a construction zone through here." I said "No, I didn't see that." He replies "You are going to need to pay more attention. Have a nice day."

Third time was for an illegal license plate cover. Washington State Patrol picked me off the freeway just for that. Once he got me pulled over, I couldn't find my current insurance card either (had every card since I bought the car *except* for the right one...) He let me go too, with an admonishment to get the cover off as soon as I got home.

Fourth time was also speeding - 69 in a 55 zone. Had just crossed the border from Washington into Oregon out in the eastern part of the state. Oregon has a max speed of 55 on non-interstates, while Washington doesn't (doesn't suck.....) The cop comes up to my passenger side window and says "Do you know how fast you were going?" I said "It says *Oregon* State Patrol on your shirt, doesn't it?" and he says "Yep - going to need you to dial it down a little. Drive safely!"

The fifth time was last spring, right near my house. I was driving to a meeting, kind of on autopilot. The cop says "Do you know how long I have been behind you?" Me - "no". He says "Well, I pulled in about 4 miles ago, and noted that you were going 54 in a 55 zone. About 2 miles ago, the speed limit changed, and I noted that you were going 54 in a 45 zone. When you saw my lights just now, it was because you were going 54 in a 40 zone. Did you get enough sleep last night?" This guy actually ticketed me, but he wrote it up for 41mph in a 40 zone, so it was the minimum fine amount - something like 70 or 75 bucks.

I do a *ton* of driving, compared to most people. I have put over 370,000 miles on 2 cars since 2003, so 5 stops with only one ticket doesn't seem totally out of line to me. Especially in light of the fact that I was completely guilty on four of those occasions!
