Anyone running a ported 2018 intake manifold in place of the stock 2018+ manifold? Auto Mafia will take yours and port it and send it back for $300. They say it needs IRMC lockouts. I’m not sure how they can fail and what are the pros and cons of locking them out.

Are there any negatives to running the ported intake, with or without the lockouts?

It's not really a big gain on cars already with that manifold. For 15-17s it's a pretty decent gain especially up top.

You don't need lockouts, the reason people get lockouts is because their tuner is incapable or unwilling to tune with them, not because they get in the way or cause any sort of power loss.

There is 0 gain in removing them, but there is some low end torque that is lost. They are locked out purely out of convenience and ease of tuning.

OP probably looking at 5-7whp gain NA. More if going boosted.

According to a few dyno tests, a ported 18 shows a decent gain in the mid range (3-5k) over the stock manifold and only about 5 hp up top. For the price and gain, I would only call it worth it if youre already having to replace the manifold (I.E. 15-17 cars going to the 18 mani, or your original 18 mani has to be replaced for some reason)

I do but I don't have a before and after result since I installed headers and full tune at the same time.

In my case, I got it when I had my 15LE so it was a no brainer to swap it to my 19. Right now I'm debating if getting a ported GT350 with ported TB...

Add up all the money you're spending on switching back and forth. Waste of time and money. You're only going to get so much n/a.

Stick with your manifold. Add e85 and headers

Been there, done that. You gain nothing up top except a headache. Hence why I went with a 2020 intake manifold which smokes the 15-17 intake all over the RPM range even with IMRC lockouts.

Pretty much a waste of money.

Buy some dogecoin or a prostitute. I think either would make you happier.
Any mod is a waste of money if you are not looking for any power. A mustang in itself is a waste of money if you are a Camry driver. Just depends on what you got and what you want.

You realize the 2018 manifold and 2020 manifold are the same?
