If you can do the work yourself. you can put one together for right around $2900
You may be able to get parts for that cost but you still need it balanced at a minimum which will cost you some extra. I just put the parts in a cart on Summit to build that same motor and it was over $3100, without tax, without balancing, etc.. You can find some deals on stuff and get that cost down for sure but as most builds go I'm willing to bet the budget is higher than expected.

That's great and all, but most people can't or choose not to for various reasons.

Hell if you have your own mine, foundry and machine shop you can put one together for under $500.

You can get a new Gen3 block for around $900.00. Or if you get lucky you may be able to find a complete 2018 used short block out of an F-150 or mustang for around $1,500.00, assuming the crank needs no work and the bores are in spec.

Manley rods with ARP bolts - around $700.00
Mahle Power pack kit - around $800.00
All new bearings - around $250.00

If you can do this yourself, you can have a 1K HP short block for around $3250.00.

Still not balanced for that cost so add $3-500 to that depending on the shop you use and how pickey you are.

The Mahle piston kit requires no balancing.

It's a drop in piston kit, the exact same one Ford uses to build their Aluminator blocks.

And the rods? Are they the same at both ends as whatever the crank you have was originally balanced to? Which is different depending on if you got a gen1 or newer crank?

Block 750
Crankshaft 350
Rods 750
Pistons 800
Bearings 100
No balancing needed if you get the right rods. Bob weight comes out within spec. Everything comes balanced so if you pay more than 300 to balance a crankshaft you got robbed.
I never said everyone can do it for this. You have to be able to put the work in. I have built complete coyote engines for $2900. Just depends on what you have available. I have picked up good used coyote engines for $550. Just keep a eye out

What aftermarket forged rods, pistons and pins are 100% balanced with an OEM Boss crankshaft?

I get ford parts at cost plus 10%... but tasca is pretty close to employee pricing minus shipping.

You can get a brand new short block from Ford for $1800+ core. No need to change the rods for a engine that will only see 1000whp a couple of times. If you want to live at 1000whp than yes. Bearings $100 Mahle drop in pistons $800. $2700 no balance needed $3400 With the right rods no balancing needed
