I have a 2017 S550 and have updated to Synch 3.0. Everything works great. I want to load Synch 3.4. I’ve seen on a YouTube video that you can reflash the APIM using Cyan Labs software. Then you can update to Synch 3.4

Do I need to have a newer APIM? Has anybody else reflashed their APIM, and does SYNCH 3.4 work okay on the 2017 APIM without changing the hardware?

I have not personally flashed 3.4 on my APIM...it came already installed....but according to the Cyanlabs website here https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/update-ford-sync-3-2-2-3-0-to-version-3-4-all-years-3-4-19200/
you should be able to flash as long as you are already running Sync 3.0 or above.

Has any 2020 owner upgraded to sync3? I don't seem to be able to fix hazard toggle switch. The 726-29 line in the Bodycm as built is different. There is no 02 line.
I downloaded a premium 2020 as built and they match what I have for 726-29.
Also lost FordPass connection, but that's a different topic. Any help is appreciated.

I am using 2017 APIM. The hazard switch is done in the bcm though.

Anyone who has done the swap from 4” or sync 2 to sync 3 has change the startup screen like the GT using forscan successfully? For some reason, I cannot do it but my unit is from Infotainment.com. Wonder if this after-market unit does not have full range of startup screen like the OEMs do.

My parts finally arrived and I completed the swap. Everything works perfectly out of the box except:

1) Drive modes, I'm currently trying to figure out the values to put into forscan to get these to work
2) The hazard flashers behave weird, instead of turning on when I flip the switch up and off when I flip it down, they stay on until I turn the switch on then off a second time.

Any advice how to fix these?

To get drive modes to work:
Part 1
ABS as-built 760-02-02: changed from xxxx 6xxx xxxx to xxxx 7xxx xxxx
Part 2
IPC as-built 720-06-01: changed from xxxx xxxx x0xx to xxxx xxxx x8xx

My car still does the double-flip hazard switch but I don't mind.

FWIW I started going through all the drop-down modules in Forscan because I have DTC's all over the place when it first reads the car. Found in the BdCM drop-down module there is a text field for your VIN, and the wrong one was in there! Feels like I'll be chasing things like this forever after the Sync 3 swap.

I never inputted my VIN anywhere and eveyrthing still works. Is that important? What does it do?
