Ending his thread.
Just gut an S550 and stick an original antiquated Boss 429 in it.
(See the sarcasm)
Supposedly the new performance variant of the EcoBoost Mustang was from people working their own time after work and Ford liked what they did and decided to make a model based on it so not completely unusual.Because they aren't stupid.
They can program it to do whatever they want. However, they won’t program it the way you think it should be. They want either max acceleration (wot) or max fuel economy (all other times). Max acceleration involves maximizing average power, which means 4000+ rpm. I’ve explained this numerous times in this thread. Can’t that transmission hold a gear?
If it’s set up for towing it has to be able to hold a gear?

They hype up the 'engineers in a garage' aspect of that. The program got budget to go do some development work to try and make the changes earn their way on. They obviously did.Supposedly the new performance variant of the EcoBoost Mustang was from people working their own time after work and Ford liked what they did and decided to make a model based on it so not completely unusual.

Even if it did happen like you were saying, that is taking an existing engine that quite literally would drop right in the S550, has the same harness connections and pin-outs, and could easily run on the existing 2.3L calibration.
Yes it can hold gears in Tow/haul mode that will surely be in the truck's options if equipped with the 7.3.Can’t that transmission hold a gear?

No they're just not stupid enough to do it because it makes no sense with the 7.3L as-designed. There's no special project to make a more racy/performance-focused variant of the 7.3L. It will not go in the damn Mustang (and it doesn't fit). You're missing your entire left brain, aren't you?Ah, so now the people of Ford are so inept they can’t put the 7.3 in the Mustang anymore than I could.

You should do yourself a favor and go drive some vehicles with the A10. While it is a great transmission I do feel it will rob you of that feeling you want. Part of the reason it has so many gears is so that it can quickly jump to the right one to keep the engine in it's optimum range. Even in a situation where you say flip it to sport mode and hammer it, it will still jump around gears to get in the power band right away which is why I think the A10 will not give you that big block feeling you desire.
What he said ^
Fatguy wants the feel of a 60s big block in his car but modern. The problem is the transmission is to modern that it's just going to drive like a regular V-8
Fatguy, I don't quite understand why you like to troll so much.
You were on an EV binge for the last couple months and then switched over to the 7.3L when it was announced. What's next? Maybe you aren't just a troll...maybe you troll because you are bored. I don't know!
