Installed rock guards and 1” spacers all around. I’m thinking I need to downsize the back to something around 12mm or so. Looks like a little too much poke. Thoughts?

Broke my 6R80 for the 3rd time today... I'm about ready to drive the car off a cliff.

Just got it back 2-3 weeks ago from JPC and today while just cruising it started making squealing and grinding noises from the trans. Car randomly loses power and almost dies, trying to accelerate moderately hard results in the converter unlocking and revs flying but not going anywhere. I think the converter is the problem, the squealing noise sounds like something rubbing that is rotating at a high speed and it is mostly independent from vehicle speed.

Transmission problems are starting to take the fun out of this car.

The filter is positioned right in front of the wheel well liner behind the bumper. I drove about 400 miles after the incident happened so the filter was exposed right next to the front tire.

I clean the filter every few months, I don't think any more than that is really necessary. I had just cleaned it a month or so before this happened lol
That explains it all. Now I see why it was so dirty. No offense.

Last week, got my tint replaced. Original tint was done by selling dealership while it sat on their lot for several months. It was a $100 tint job. Never get $100 tint jobs.

New tint is Panaflex Carbon Ceramic -70% on windshield, 20% on doors and 5% on quarters and back.

Also my black 5.0 fender badges came in, and it's almost time to put the hood decal back on after the hood repaint. Maybe next week.

edit: Don't laugh at the poor wrap job on the antenna nipple. It's harder to wrap than it looks. Will redo that soon too.

Swapped out the MGW classic knob with a black and red sickspeed from ebay. Seems about on par quality but slightly larger. Only thing is it uses a thread insert.
How do you like your SatNav unit?

jtmat would really like to know how the Conti perform in your opinion. Please keep us updated!

Conti 06's are great... like many already say in the tire section of the website...

I waited to respond to ensure I had enough road time to provide an adequate response. Since purchase I put maybe 200 city miles and 1 hwy road trip of 4 hours (2 hours each way).

There is nothing much to tell, the ride is much better than stock tires, and the grip is definitely solid in wet and dry. While they are not silent, they are seem to provide less road noise than the stock tires (although my stock tires were messed up).

I have one exit I get off and it is one of those sharp half-circles... I had to do it three times, each at a quicker pace. That was surprising... but fun.

Negatives:

Friend asked if I had new tires... said they looked larger. I thought they changed the look of the car, but I did not share that with him or anyone else.

MPG went down slightly... they stick so I have more confidence in turns and in general "fun" driving (guess plus and negative in one). MPG when driving like a "normal person" is the same as before.

I would purchase them again. Although, I would problably pay extra for something more "sporty", if quality the same as the 06's

Took it to our first car show. Got lots of compliments and questions. I had the only S550 there.

 +1 Getting some compliments on the louver trim, resembles the LE at first glance.
Man, I love it. Hopefully it comes back in stock soon or there's an alternate source. I searched the usual suspects (chinese sites) and couldn't find anything.

I was generally deeply against side louvers, but these are subtle enough to be a good addition.
