It's the Shelby American scoop I was referring to.

Installed the brace today and it's a very welcome change. Like it's grounded to the grou.. err no. Better.
This is a great mod for my vert and on my list for the future...after2 other projects that I already have the parts for.

I ordered the two point brace for the front and the rear subframe braces as well. I'll get them on this weekend, and try to get back here to post impressions. I can see how tying the chassis together is beneficial, because a lot of flex goes on under modern passenger cars. That's why "real" trucks have body on frame construction.

I chose the 2 point vs the 4 point for a couple of reasons. I'm not tracking the car, and the 4 point hangs down a little, which lessens clearance if I ever decide to lower my car. And of course the cost.

I track with the 2 point. I think many of Steeda's development cars use the 2 point and get great lap times with of course all the other bits in play. Good choices. You'll like the IRS brace benefits. One of my favorite mods actually. I left it off recently after doing some work because I was lazy to put it back on and the car felt numb comparatively. It was eye opening.

Installed the front 2 point and the rear subframe braces today. I have to say that the car feels more buttoned down, as if someone went back and torqued down every bolt on the car. In the rear is where I noticed the most improvement. On a rolling start, I gave the go pedal a nice bump and there was no drama, just a spin and it was off. I didn't feel the car squat as much and there was more of a sensation of being shoved back in the seat. I suppose that is from having less deflection in the chassis. Seems like I hear less noise coming from the drivetrain, but I need more seat time to tell. The front feels planted as well but to be honest I was digging what was happening out back too much to pay keen attention. I was driving with steering in "normal" mode and the front did not feel quite as... sloshy? (if that's even a word) Didn't seem like night and day but better.

The front does feel more settled. In the past, when turning a corner I would slow down more because the car would wallow a bit. It feels flatter with less movement. Now I think some of the shortcomings people blame on the factory springs actually stem from the chassis. The only reason I would change springs now is for ride height. It drives great.

Mechanically, this is not likely. The more likely scenario is that people are more aggressive in their "testing" and experience what seems to be more stability.

Good Lord I need one of these. First time at an autocross since installing the new meats, and the weak spots in the chassis really exposed themselves.

I had a chance to take some curves over the weekend and wow, with both the front and rear braces it made more of a difference than I first thought. The car seems so much more planted. I have nothing empirical to show that I can take curves faster but what I do know is it definitely increased my confidence. I did not try the braces separately so I can't speak to their individual merits but together it's sweet music.

Interesting - my 2600 mile 2017 I recently bought appears to have this chassis brace installed. There's a rectangular section, black bar spanning the frame rails, about 6 inches behind the oil pan plug and secured on each side by a large, single bolt. I noticed it while changing the oil.

Is that what it is??

I haven't noticed any other mods or accessories added to the car.

Yes, that's it. Hopefully, it was installed correctly. There is supposed to be a crush sleeve installed within the frame rail at each bolt location - some have had trouble with this - I'd take a close look to make sure they are there. If they are, I'd double check to torque - don't remember the value but it can be found at the Steeda site.

Thanks - I'll check it out. I thought it was a factory brace.

Considering this was installed, I wouldn't be surprised if jacking rails were also added. Rectangular bars bolted inside the pinch welds at the underside of the sills.
