As I'm typing this I'm underneath my gt350 trying to install the steeda brace..'simply' file away the metal slag in the holes really isnt that simple. Huge slag which is very strong..the bolts go through though, I just cant get the spacers there- are the spacers absolutely required? Otherwise I'll leave 'm out.

Thanks guys!

Others can chime in but I did not use the spacers, same problem. HOWEVER be very careful tightening the bolts as without the spacers they will start crushing the subframe. They have locknuts. A less-is-more strategy is best

Man I was just about to buy this but don't want to deal with having to "chisel or file away" anything. Why can't it just be plug n play -_-

Had the same issue but with patience I was able to get the area filed enough to insert the spacers. Take a little off the spacer too if needed.

What I did was get a flat head screw driver and keep bending the left over tab back and forth until it broke loose, like a soda can tab.
I used that method and then used a round file to deburr.

This is what I did. Very easy to do.
Please use the spacers. Without them its like tightening a bolt through a pop can. You arent providing any structural support.
^^^ This!

This is an extremely easy task. It seemed to take longer for me to get the car on the lift than it did to install the brace using the spacers. I also used a flat head screw driver and my finger to bend the tabs back and forth until they broke off.
