There are no kits for the '15+. As far as I know, I have never heard of a remote starter kit for any manual car. I have seen individuals come up with ways to do it but not an aftermarket vendor. Do you have a link to who makes it for the '14 and below?

Of course you can put a remote starter on a manual transmission car - there are many brands offering that (google for more but some info: http://www.mobileedgeonline.com/can-i-get-a-remote-car-starter-on-a-manual-transmission/ ). For cars with an immobilizer like Mustang, you would need a bypass device - it depends on the brand/model and after a very quick google-fu, this is what I found:

https://www.viper.com/smartstart/systems.aspx - you can select features and it will offer you a product based on that

They dont do it stock for obvious reasons- dummy leaves in gear, remote tarts and car takes off with no one in it. cant do that in an auto as can only start in neutral or park.

Just gotta be careful with it.

In my opinion,

not a good idea. You would have to leave the car in neutral with just the parking brake holding it...leaving a manual in gear helps guarantee it doesn't go rolling on you.

I nearly got into an accident in college-some moron in an apartment building didn't secure his old Chevy Blazer properly (it was a stick), and it went rolling out into a street I was driving on (umanned). A dude coming the other direction did nail the truck...it was an insurance mess. I left my name as a witness (and also called 911, from a payphone, that's how far back this happened), and I got interviewed by three insurance adjusters (the guy driving behind the car who nailed the blazer also got rear-ended by the car behind him)

If you have a good relationship with an alarm installer or company they will do it, I had viper auto start on my manual mustang. As expected the installer told me that leaving it in gear and starting will result in damage and he was in know way going to be liable. I wouldn't do it now but along time ago I had to have it. its not safe, but easy to get done.

Wonder how you get around the clutch interlock? (You have to have the clutch in to start the car, even if the tranny is in neutral!) ;)

Should be easy enough, there's only two wires going to that switch. I wired a remote kill switch to it.

I'm sure you weren't surprised to see a bunch of people mentioning to not do it for what could happen but I actually have been involved with an accident with remote start on a manual trans.

My friend had it on his wrx, he had me drive it back to a party. I parked it in the drive way like any normal person who knows how to drive a manual would do. In first gear with the ebrake on.

When he came out of the Party early the next morning with his girlfriend and hit the remote start button, he got quite the surprise as his car shot forward into the Taurus sitting in front of it.

Whoops.

I thought about it and the only right way to do it would be to install Mercury switches in a way that disarms the remote start function if have it in anything other than neutral.

I've had 2 subarus with a manual trans and remote start. Neither car would start in gear. I had them installed professionally so I'm not sure on how the lockout worked, but it did.
