not really weird. how else would you lock the transmission so it doesn't move?Yeah, that's weird how everyone here (North America) will park their manual cars with a gear in.

Happened to a friend of mine.. hit remote start, had it in reverse, damn thing went up on the curve and hit a storefront, broke a giant window.Bad, bad, bad idea. I know someone who did it, and almost lost my legs to their stupidity. They bypassed to clutch safety switch. They pinned my between their car and my car when they were trying to be 'cool'. All it takes is once. I watched an S10 with the same set up drive through the front of a building in its own with the same set up.
Against who's law? California? Do you know how many cars have them from the factory like my sisters Impala? I've had them before, nothing illegal about them(I'm not in Cali) and nothing unsafe, it had built in measures to ensure the car was in neutral, otherwise it wouldn't start the car.Guys,
It's illegal!
You can unable the option with a software but the remotes are very expensive.
You need to buy two remotes, pay to unable the option (if somebody agrees!), reprogram the remotes.
You are responsible! it's against the law.
Remote start is actually illegal in some states.. which ones exactly I don't know, I just know that there is a disclaimer for it on some vehicles like the Dodge Charger/Dart which I almost purchased before getting this stang, they tell you to check your local laws but yeah.. it's not uncommon.Against who's law? I park my car in neutral 99% of the time, unless my car is slanted. Not sure why people in here park a manual car in neutral. Just a dumb thing to do IMO. Being in gear is a good backup in case something happens to the ebrake. Takes 1 second to do when parking the car.
this sounds like it could be its own thread / poll : parking - neutral vs. gearI park my car in neutral 99% of the time, unless my car is slanted.
