I'm guessing Ford probably figures a lot of drivers do one of two things. Park in gear or park without engaging the parking brake.

I wish Ford would enable the remote start feature for manual transmission cars. The computers already know when the transmission is in gear and when the parking brake is engaged. It would be easy to program so that remote start only functions when there is nobody in the car, the doors are locked, the transmission is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged. I had a remote starter on my 1998 Integra GS-R. There was a specific sequence to "arm" the remote start when you left the car but it worked quite well.

When I was driving a manual I always parked it in gear with the ebrake on just in case, especially on a hill or in my shitty driveway. Love the AT and remote start, expecially on those cold mornings (not that I get many)

I agree but with my suggestion, those drivers simply wouldn't be able to use the remote start. I generally park in gear with the parking brake on but I'd be willing to leave the car in neutral on flat surfaces when I knew I would be using the remote feature at my next start up.

That's exactly how I park, even in the garage.

One word why Ford - or any car manufacturer - will never do it with a manual transmission:
