Of course you can put a remote starter on a manual transmission car - there are many brands offering that (google for more but some info: http://www.mobileedgeonline.com/can-i-get-a-remote-car-starter-on-a-manual-transmission/ ). For cars with an immobilizer like Mustang, you would need a bypass device - it depends on the brand/model and after a very quick google-fu, this is what I found:There are no kits for the '15+. As far as I know, I have never heard of a remote starter kit for any manual car. I have seen individuals come up with ways to do it but not an aftermarket vendor. Do you have a link to who makes it for the '14 and below?
Looks like I would need the evo all?Of course you can put a remote starter on a manual transmission car - there are many brands offering that (google for more but some info: http://www.mobileedgeonline.com/can-i-get-a-remote-car-starter-on-a-manual-transmission/ ). https://www.viper.com/smartstart/systems.aspx - you can select features and it will offer you a product based on that
That's what it looks like but I would contact the manufacturer just in case...Looks like I would need the evo all?
Should be easy enough, there's only two wires going to that switch. I wired a remote kill switch to it.Wonder how you get around the clutch interlock? (You have to have the clutch in to start the car, even if the tranny is in neutral!) ;)
I've had 2 subarus with a manual trans and remote start. Neither car would start in gear. I had them installed professionally so I'm not sure on how the lockout worked, but it did.I'm sure you weren't surprised to see a bunch of people mentioning to not do it for what could happen but I actually have been involved with an accident with remote start on a manual trans.
My friend had it on his wrx, he had me drive it back to a party. I parked it in the drive way like any normal person who knows how to drive a manual would do. In first gear with the ebrake on.
When he came out of the Party early the next morning with his girlfriend and hit the remote start button, he got quite the surprise as his car shot forward into the Taurus sitting in front of it.
Whoops.
I thought about it and the only right way to do it would be to install Mercury switches in a way that disarms the remote start function if have it in anything other than neutral.
