Hey guys,

So I have a 2019 Mustang GT 10 Speed, and it’s basically full bolt on. Corsa xtreme headers, corsa catback exhaust, JLT cold air intake and a dyno tune on 94 octane.

I did this about a month ago, and I made 472 at around 6700 RPM, it was def. under 7,000.

I just went to a Dyno event today and I feel embarrassed, my car made 455 at 7,000. Mind you, there was 2 dyno pulls.

This event was held at my shop, so I asked why I’m making so much less power and they said it could be due to bad fuel and it’s pulling timing and that it does happen, and to contact them monday ...

I’m planning on getting a stage 2 whipple supercharger next season, so is this worth checking on? Especially since the season is coming to an end?

Thanks,

different days, maybe a different dyno? DA, temp, air quality in general will make a difference. fuel will make a huge difference, I'm not sure when fuel changes to the winter blend up there but if it already has that alone will make a big difference too

Yeah, I mean it’s a very cold day today, wouldn’t that make it better for the car ? Not sure how everything works...

But overall, should I just wait till next season lol? I’m adding a big ass supercharger anyways

I was just going to say the same thing.

Years ago, all car companies would go to the most optimal places to get the most HP out of there cars. Elevation and temperature play a factor in HP. Then they were mandated to test HP ratings under the same conditions. This was back in 2005 I think. Honda had promoted my 06 Civic Si as 200HP but under the revision it went to 197HP.

So many factors. It’s crazy

you have to decide if it's worth worrying over, I wouldn't. does the car feel like it's down on power? boost it and enjoy some real horsepower

I guess not. Boosting it is going to change a lot of aspects, and if it really was fuel then it’s nothing i can control.

I’m not knowledgeable in tuning but doesn’t the car get tuned by the temperature as well?

It’s cold in Brampton right now. Waiting until around 1pm to do some work on the car.

Unless it was the same dyno, the results mean nothing.

If it was the same dyno, and it was colder the 2nd time, then you have something to look into. Most likely bad gas.

Same dyno and way colder...

Some say plugs, some say bad fuel... If they’re gonna charge me to look at it then i’m better of waiting till i get the whipple IMO

I.....uuuuuuuh........you can't change the plugs and get a fresh tank of gas yourself?

How many miles on the car?

Also, detail out the 2 dyno runs please. Explain exactly the circumstances. What fuel was used for both pulls, who had possession of the car in the days leading up to the dyno pulls, etc.

Around 3400 miles. It's not your plugs. Probably gas.

Is 94 octane standard in Canada? Where do you get your gas at? Where did the gas come from for the two pulls?

94 is the highest grade here and my car is tuned for it. The gas came from my local gas station , I ran the dyno on a half tank of gas
