Put off my windshield replacement for way too long just for this very reason. Dropped it off this morning and reset the G meter before I left.

0.58 acceleration when I picked it.up.

Like why can't they just do the service without playing around?

They probably just hit a curb moving it around the parking lot.

But they do need to test to make sure they glued it on unlike what they do at Tesla factory.

I'm sorry to hear that bud, very annoying. But I'll go one better. Co-worker once dropped off his tuned GT2 RS for just a regular service. Yes, I know, why do you have to tune a GT2 RS?! Anyway, a few hours later he gets a phone call saying there's been a "problem" with his car. He asks what the problem is and the manager said it might be best to email him a picture. He opens the picture to see the front fender gone from his car and the front wheel barely still attached to the car. He called back the dealership and said, "Congrats, you just bought me a new car". They gave him a new GT3 RS, which he loved more than the GT2. True story.

Unfortunately I found out the next day that the tech at Town FaIr Tire was taking a few hot laps behind the mall with my car after having a set of tires installed…A witness approached me,informed me and when I confronted the manager of course he assures me his employees never do that!

Oh man, I would be sick. But at least this one worked out in the end.

Ugg that sucks. It's almost like the probability is higher they will do something stupid, than just do the job they were hired to do.

If I remember right, you can setup a spare key to have some restrictions like not being able to turn off traction control. I think there's a speed limiter too? I don't think you can limit full throttle, but at least you can prevent a few things.

That's why I always try to limit the shop visits to the things I cannot absolutely take care of myself (past weekend I did the timing belt on wife's car...).

When the car have to go to the shop I never loose sight of it, or of the main entrance and I'm sure it's well understood beforehand which type of customer they are dealing with. Not just the pretty face taking the keys and collecting the money but the head mechanic.
I prefer to be looked at like a dick but the car treated as it should than the other way around.

Having said that, last time I took the wheels to make a tire balancing (not the car, the wheels) there was an Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio and one of the younger guys was saying to the owner (which is a friend of mine) "come on let's have another go with the Giulia!!"...

If you get something like PCMTec you can limit torque about 5 keystrokes and a 15 second reflash. That's what I do. I bet those techs are kinda puzzled when this supercharged 2018 runs almost identically to an ecoboost. But they dare not say anything about it...
