Tremec anyone? It's a shame that the box we have is the MT-82. It shifts mediocre & is relatively fragile.
It's really not bad compared to a lot of other manuals on the market in my opinion. Especially the manuals available on a lot of other popular cars, like the Golf, BRZ, Veloster, etc. It's relatively middle of the pack, with the only ones that I feel are better are the Tremecs (obviously) and Honda's stuff. The fragility is something they've tried to work on, so we'll see how the newer cars fare over time. It's a shame that the box we have is the MT-82. It shifts mediocre & is relatively fragile.
Actually, it's the WRX that has the highest MT take rate in the industry. And it's not even close. The Mustang appears to be tops within the V8 2+2 segment (Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers).I believe Mustang has the highest percentage of manual transmission sales of any car. I don't recall the exact numbers, but I know it was over 20%. I think a lot of buyers are reliving their muscle car days of the past. Average age of Mustang buyers is well past 50.

That‘s probably because the WRX and STI were only available in manual for about 10 years. Then you could opt for the CVT. Almost a no-brainer to stick with manual. Traded in my STi for the GT. That was a great car but I don’t miss it.Actually, it's the WRX that has the highest MT take rate in the industry. And it's not even close. The Subaru WRX/STI has the highest manual take rate of any car on this list, approximately 88 percent. Manuals make up a healthy 73 percent of BRZs
Ford says 50 percent of current Mustang GT buyers and 20 percent of Mustang EcoBoost buyers choose the six-speed manual.
Manual take rate on the 2019 Chevy Corvette is approximately 20 percent this year, but the new mid-engine car will only have a dual-clutch automatic on its spec sheet. Take rate on the ’19 Camaro is approximately 20 percent
A couple others . . .
Current manual take rate on the Miata is 76 percent for the soft top and 52 percent for the RF
Manual take rate for the Nissan 370Z coupe so far in 2019 is 46 percent.

Ya, I was thinking that might say more about the Subie automatic than it does about their manual. That‘s probably because the WRX and STI were only available in manual for about 10 years. Fair enoughWhich is why im considering an ss 1le camaro
Shouldnt it be the civic type r since they only come in manual? Or are they grouped in with the other civic variants?Actually, it's the WRX that has the highest MT take rate in the industry. The counterpoint obviously being that if you were looking for an automatic that wasn't a CVT, you'd have ended up spending your money at somebody else's store.Ya, I was thinking that might say more about the Subie automatic than it does about their manual.
You really have to treat low-production special models like the Type R and the GT350s separately from the question because of there being no choice. Not that adding 7000-ish GT350s to 50000-ish GTs @ 50% MT changes the overall mix all that much (56-ish% MT).Shouldnt it be the civic type r since they only come in manual? Or are they grouped in with the other civic variants?
