A friend swapped his factory manifolds to LTH and went catless and literally gained zero measurable difference...... @ 740whp with a centri at 13psi.

Factory exhaust flows amazing compared to 25 years ago.

Same dyno? Pretty sure it should be there's less restriction on the catless. Should be more power. Pretty sure I gained something with mine.

At 740hp 10-15hp is meaningless. Different weather conditions will give you the same results. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the coyotes tri-y headers. They only become restrictive when running into very high boost pressures, like 20+lbs.

You're right 15 HP isn't much at that number because the dyno can read that much variation depending on certain factors.

Back pressure is the main issue. The cats on the end of the stock manifold is the issue. More backpressure more heat in combustion chamber.

Hellion bottom mount uses stock headers and run into issues with floating valves and high backpressure.

There is merit to LTH I believe I picked up more than 10-15 HP but always setups matter. Even the type of cat back matters unless you're going to bypass it.

Yessir! There’s no mistaking the sound of LTHs on a Mustang. They make the engine sound like an angry bear. To each his own though. I get why some Mustang owners aren’t wanting to spend the cash on them (as the top tier LTHs are very expensive) or go to the trouble of installing them, and/or having to pay someone to install them. For me it was worth it. I love the sound of my angry bear, or is it a Coyotebear?

I started this thread to gain valued opinions on whether the LTH's are worth the money and labor.

I love the way my 2018 sounds with my 3" Thermal R&D axle back system. I can't see how making my awesome sounding Coyote louder would be of any benefit; the volume and tone are perfect for me now.

I appreciate the forum members input. Think I'll stick with the factory shorty headers.

Damn, LTH = no appreciable gains. Learn something new everyday! Thanks 6g!
I'm pretty sure it has helped me.. Mainly because I have already had to replace the stock cats twice because of boost. I'll take LTH brand headers installed for $400 any day of the week. My MPH has gone up by 6mph with headers, exhaust (which definitely ='s 0hp), and a tune.

so:

~ 2k for a stainless 3" kooks exhaust, which got rid of all the factory choke points.
~ 2k for Headers w/ high flow cats
4K total for 50 hp gain with cats that won't pass emissions vs factory stock.

Cool story bro.

You really think there's be that big a difference vs factory headers / catless / MBRP 3" catback exhaust @ like 600 bucks ? <- Rhetorical.

OP isn't making gigantic horsepower & stupid amounts off boost. He asked if it was worth LTH. Still a big nope.

Lets take Steeda’s 2019 Bullitt. Stock baseline pull reportedly netted 435 rwhp/380 rwtq and with a tune only, it jumped to 457 rwhp/400 rwtq. With that being said, now let’s take my 2019 Bullitt with LTHs, PMAS CAI and E85 tune and I made 469 rwhp/434 rwtq. Looks like a 12 hp gain from LTHs (maybe a little less if you factor in the gains from the CAI and E85). Was it expensive, hell yea! Was it worth it? To me it was, especially with my power adder. I also love the sound of them. Long story short, it seems like the tune is where most of the power comes from.
