I’m not sure they got glue on the housing, or if that’s just from the fumes not getting ventilated properly before it dried - that effect is really evident on finger prints and / or clear plastic.Ok mystery solved. I tried to pop off the map light housing and it looks like the previous owner broke one of clips when putting in LED bulbs, and caked it with super glue. They probably got some on the housing but when they wiped it off it left a white shadow/stain on the black plastic.
I used some citrus adhesive remover with some elbow grease and it seems to have come off.

Here's s link to determine the interor color code. Then do a google search to but it.doing a googlr search I found several companies that sell ford interior paint buy you need the codrIf it's super glue don't you need acetone to remove it? I'd certainly test it somewhere inconspicuous first.
Other than that maybe try paint as suggested or start looking for a replacement on the good 'ole fleabay.
You may end up painting it....or replacing it.Well unfortunately it's still there. Once the goo be gone dried the white haze came right back.
Any suggestions for removing this crap without destroying the plastic?
Alcohol and goo be gone do not work.

It comes in spray cans.so what I do
is spray some into the cover the dip small painters brush to test it.
It's not damage. It's super glue that was wiped off, but left a residue. You probably wouldn't even see it if it weren't on black plastic. It looks to me like actual damage to the plastic.
My attempts to fix would be:
- Hit it with a black permanent marker
- Remove it from the car and hit it with SEM Black Trim Paint (~$33 on Amazon)
- Remove it from the car and try lightly hitting it with a heat gun
- Buy a new map light on Ebay for ~$50
Maybe a little acetone. Disclaimer: Do not let acetone touch anything else. Put some sort of masking (cardboard for instance) to prevent contact with the headliner. I would use a Q-tip dipped in the acetone. Be patient. Don't apply too much. Apply in paths parallel to the part edge and feather acetone, feathering out as you away from the part's edge. Only feather out as far as you absolutely need to however.Well unfortunately it's still there. Once the goo be gone dried the white haze came right back.

Unfortunately the ebay ones don't fit my car. The 2015-2023s all look the same, but there seem to be some differences for my car.It looks to me like actual damage to the plastic.

If it's just glue, then using a citrus oil like Goo Gone or using 3M glue remover should do the trick. With Goo Gone, soak it and let it sit for a few minutes and use a "soft" tooth brush. It's not damage. It's super glue that was wiped off, but left a residue. You probably wouldn't even see it if it weren't on black plastic.
