I forget about Motul. Should have had them in my actual synthetic list. Ran Motul in my sport bike with good results.

I have the 5W-50 8100 Power in the motor right now. The 5W-50 has an Ester base, but their 5W-40 is probably great too.

Just to put this out here again because it was not answered with material proof.

Who has scientific material/literature proof of CURRENT Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5w-30 and 5w-50 not being a “True” synthetic from Group IV and or Group V?

Before people start looking for Euro Formulas assuming they are from POA stocks…

Is there an unbiased source where I could learn these truths?

Not really, The big companies consider the specific blend to be proprietary. People have spent quite a bit of time doing analysis and picking through MSDSs to try to figure this out. The smaller producers will give you a better idea but still not percentages. That add pack is probably more important anyway. Any many tribologists will ask “does it really matter as long as it meets the spec?”

I’ve done a LOT of research on this and my top recommendation for a performance car is anything that says acea a3/b4 on it. Beyond that I like pennzoil euro 5w40 or the Quaker state equivalent if you can find it.

You are missing the point Dan. The car specs 5w30. As performance and heat go up they increase the spec. As high as 5w50. 0w anything is too thin for cold operation. IMHO

But to each his own. You run what you like, I'll run what I like

I am not advocating running a true 0 grade oil for anything but start up. It will flow easier and lube better cold.

Ford also specs 5w-50 in the boss which has the same bearing specs as all other coyote's.

Where are you seeing this, exactly?

Euro spec oils generally carry an ACEA rating rather than just API. Many of the ACEA specs have requirements similar to diesels (higher viscosity, more zddp) so they can carry a gasoline/diesel dual rating. Also many of the euro auto manufacturers have different specs vs American cars so they tailor them to those. I believe pennzoil even has one called AV for Audi/volkswagen.
