I've heard that the BG products work as claimed. I have a Ecoboost Explorer that I plan on using BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner due to having DI. I may even use some on the Stang.

Here is one of their service products on Motorweek:

I never use anything. gas is a natural solvent. heck, when cleaners dont work, usually a little glass will clean things right up.
Depends on what you are cleaning. Solvent is solvent, it absorb what can dissolve in it. If it does not dissolve, you need something else.

I ran Shell 93 religiously, and used a can of Techron twice a year in my GTI, but that was direct injected. I use 93 in the Mustang as well, but not sure if the Techron is necessary in the Mustang. I might use it once a year. It's only a few bucks and I doubt it's hurting anything. Also, I do park my car for extended periods when I travel for work.

Waist of time.. Unless your running something like Torco to add octane and even that should not be run all the time as it can be hard on the cats if its not fully burned.
