Now that we have a good bit of these new S550's on the road and accumulating mileage, I thought it would be a good idea to see if you all use and fuel additives.

Unless you have fuel varnish issues from long periods of sitting there's really no point. If you do have these issues, find a cleaner that uses polyetheramine (PEA.) You can find it on the MSDS. Most cleaners, like seafoam, use naptha and ethyl alcohol, which aren't that effective.

The most important thing right now is to get an oil catch can on your car. There's a significant amount of oil blowby and when it hits the hot intake valves it will form deposits, which will cause problems over time.

I use gumout regane and sta-bil on my high-mileage 4x4 (Chevy LT1.) That thing is abused quite a lot and sits for long periods however.

I plan to use Chevron Techron every 5000 miles. I do so already with my toyota truck. Does it work? No fuel pressure or other issues, how to prove a negative?

Are you talking about a port injected engine like the Coyote, or just the direct-injected engines like the Ecoboost?

Just the EB. There's no fuel hitting the intake valves to clean them on a DI engine.

(Although it wouldn't hurt on the coyote. I've seen some nasty throttle bodies, and idle air control valves love to get gunked up at high mileage)

I own an EB and was told to never use a gasoline additive. I plan to store the convertible during the winter. I always added STABIL to a full tank when I stored my 2010. Can I use STABIL for winterizing the 2015 EB?

Torco only one proven to increase octane, during summers if I wanted to boost past 27psi on my 2g DSM hit with some Torco and happy boosting 31 psi at over 95* ambient. No timing would get pulled.

I have never used a fuel additive in my life.

I have taken multiple Ford Vehicles past 300K miles.

And I have had many fast mustangs.

Not really sure why people use them?
Same here. I think they are totally unnecessary. Waste of $. I had over 160,000 miles on my 69 mustang 351 without a problem.

I only use a fuel additive occasionally. Normally high mileage or when I buy a used car. Not 100% positive but I used it on my first couple tanks in my Ranger and I'm pretty sure my mileage was a little better on those tanks than I typically get around town now.

Only other time I use them is when my vehicles have been sitting for a while. I just drained my CBR's tank since that fuel has been sitting in there for about a year. Put some fuel treatment in there (gum out since it specifically says it removes water from fuel) Now I just need to ride the damn thing lol.

it has an engine!
toluene or xylene . I don't suggest it for 99% of people. I use them as an octane booster too. Don't suggest that for most people either

I never use anything. gas is a natural solvent. heck, when cleaners dont work, usually a little glass will clean things right up.

A few of us out here in KC just recently went on the Dyno and a lot of us get gas at the same gas station BP 93. We all had low numbers and knocking issues. We had to decrease timing to prevent it. It's winter and we think it's the batch of fuel having less of the additives that it usually has during summer plus an additive added for winter fuel burning used for cold starts. Suggest by the shop to add Lucas oil fuel treatment to help with the not so reliable BP fuel. Only 93 available in the entire area. Anybody have an opinion or recommendation on other products that would help out?
