2M Headers were an absolute nightmare, had to beat the crap out of them to make them fit and had to use washers on motor mounts to make them fit. Eventually replaced them with stainless works and they fit so good.

McLeod RST clutch. I'm sure it is a great clutch but my EcoBoost is primarily a daily driver and I couldn't get over the noise it made. And my wife hated it when she drove the car. I removed it and reinstalled a OEM clutch.

Not a S550, but the Mustang mod that I regret making the most has to be the offroad exhaust I put on my '94 Cobra back in the day. When paired with the Flowmaster 2-chambers, it was crazy loud and would rattle your teeth. It also killed the low end torque on that 5.0L. So that lasted about a week before I yanked it and put on high-flow cats instead. Proof that a little backpressure can be your friend.

Yea, that's possible. I just want my Coyote to sound like my Cobra did...

You’ll be chasing that sound forever. Coyotes make too much of a different sound, they’re just naturally raspy. I’ve yet to hear one that has the same sound as the Cobra’s.

Swapped in a Steeda Tri-Ax short shifter that did not want to shift into after an hour or so of enthusiastic driving in the North GA mountains. Put the OEM unit back in and left it at that.

Hmm wow well nothing really on the Mach, but that was probably because I made a lot of mistakes on the 2018 GT. Biggest regrets on the GT were installing Recaros and a Magnaflow Tru-X resonated X-pipe. The seats dug into my ribs so bad that I ripped them out of the car and took them all apart and made a custom tool to cut holes in the hard foam of the bolsters to try and soften them up, which did not work. Took the X-pipe off the same day I installed it. Oh and the Accelatec axle backs which were basically generic Roush drone cans. And probably also minimum drop lowering springs which were still too low for GT350 wheels and tires so then I had to eff around with strut tops spacers and alignments. The blackout decklid also sucked bc of the dents I put in the trunk edge during the install. Just off the top of my head, anyway.

Muffler deletes. Droned like crazy, had obnoxious cold starts, and became "that guy" for the two weeks I had them on.

After that, swapping over to a 3" catback with an h-pipe. I think the internet is wrong here and people like the way cars sound in videos rather than in-person. It's less raspy, but with larger diameter piping, the feeling of connectedness with the pedal isn't there as much. You lose the visceral feeling of stock logic fuel cut when paddle shifting or getting on it in sport mode.

These engines are more suited for x pipes. I've had my H pipe for two years now and would still go back but I'm tired of fiddling with exhaust combinations.

I've tried basically any conceivable exhaust combination and had nearly every possible problem you could have. Stock exhaust is popular for a reason, corsa extremes are too and there's a reason why people don't use the track mufflers. I wanted to figure it out on my own and try everything. I'm putting Alibaba valved mufflers on to my 3" system soon, hoping it will be more suited to my use case.

The valves always end up not sealing or malfunctioning in some way

Fucking with my exhaust 10 different times. Taking it to a stupid muffler shop instead of being patient and going to the hot rod shop (that's expensive and takes weeks to get into)

1. Removed the stupid muffler delete axleback that was originally on the car
2. Replaced with the generic version of this (https://www.steeda.com/steeda-159-0003-mustang-axle-back-exhaust)
3. That sounded like shit so I bought GT500 mufflers
4. That was alright but wasn't quite the sound I wanted, so I had a shop put Dynomax Ultraflos in place of the imitation Flowmasters in the previous catback)
5. One side didn't line up right (cockeyed like 45 degrees) so I had a muffler shop 'fix' it instead of just going back to the original shop
6. Muffler shop tack welded the fucking axle back to the catback so I had to cut shit up to get it all off
7. Bought a DNA motoring 3" catback. The clamps were ass and the mufflers had zero packing, sounded like complete shit (actually very similar to Borla ATAK)
8. Went back to the stupid muffler shop and had them put the Dynomaxes back on to the DNA motoring catback. This time they welded the catback to my $$$ Kooks X pipe
9. That sounded better but it was raspy as shit since the stock catback had resonators. Went to a different muffler shop and had them put 3" bullet resonators on.
10. Switched the Kooks X pipe out with an H pipe

I should have just paid the $$ for a Magnaflow catback right at the beginning.
How do the ultra flows sound now with the h pipe and resonator? How loud?

Is that guy on here by chance? I don’t have FB, but would like to know more about what he did. Is it possible that you might be able to do some screen grabs from FB and post them here? Thanks
I will message you.

I feel your pain. I have Magnaflow E series axlebacks on my car and I love it. I am debating having a shop weld in the factory H pipe portion into it though. I initially had Roush, which sounded great when the car was stock, but after I went turbo and removed the cats, it sounded horrible.

Loud. But a little better. Haven't had the car out of the garage to listen to it on the road yet this year.

I blame the headers.

I regret installing the Steeda hood struts. One year later the mounting brackets were full of rust, so I had to remove them and go back to the good old rod - which I find I'm actually pretty happy with, so I'm not longing for another set of struts anyway.
I regret installing a red shift knob from White Madness Garage. Not only were the numbers printed in italic font rather than straight, and slightly yellowish instead of pure white, but after one year the clear coat started cracking. The cracks looked really ugly, and I could also feel them in my palm. I replaced it with an OEM Bullitt knob I've been perfectly happy with ever since.
I also regret a few other small cosmetic additions that didn't look as neat as I thought they would, and which had to be undone.

Mind you, nothing I did was irreversible, so what I regret are not the modifications themselves, but rather the not inconsiderable amount of money I spent for nothing.
my old white madness one did start cracking (was a solid red knob) but since they came out with the new engraving option, the material was so much better and I was able to use my own custom graphic engraved in red on a black knob and no cracks since then. I think older white madness had printing option which was not as good as the later laser cut engraving option they offered later on.
