As one of the people that said that, I've come to think that the Sync 3 software just isn't very good at adjusting the audio bands, or at least it's not what you'd expect. To get anything beyond hollow sound, I had to turn the bass to max and mids and lows down below half. You also have to have the volume up pretty high, but the hardware appears capable of producing okay to decent sound.
I have to agree with the previous poster sadly, the audio is absolutely pathetic. I came from an Aston Martin with arguably the best in car sound system in the world, so wasn't expecting much, but Ford have outdone themselves. I don't think it's actually possible to have put a worse system in this car than they did, it's an embarrassment :(

Thanks everyone. I think I like the idea of the base package best for me personally. It wont be my DD and I wont be spending a bunch of time on a track either. I think simple is great and can save me a few dollars while I'm at it. I appreciate everyone's feedback.

My personal feeling is that Sync3/Nav should either be standard on all GT350 or a stand alone option. Rename the tech pack to luxury or leather package.

Also would love to have a cold weather pack with heated mirrors and seats for places where it can be cold and dry for extended periods of time.

Oh well, got my order in for a base no option as I don't quite see the tech being worth $7500 to me.

If you guys with the tech pack think your audio sucks, try the audio in the track pack. It is :censored: horrible! It sounds like they got six speakers from a shortwave radio and hooked them up. The crazy thing is no one seems to have any speakers for these cars. Crutchfield has no info and the S550's have been out for 18 months so I'm not sure why.

Honestly, I'd wager they're basically the same.

I'll be taking mine to an audio shop soon, just a shame I have to spend another $2-3k fixing this issue right off the bat. I'm not that critical of in car audio, and I knew it wasn't going to be Aston Martin B&O/Alpine level, but I fail to see how this passed through quality control.

I'd have been upset had this been the stock audio too, hell, even my F430 with a blown door speaker sounded better than this, and Ferrari are notorious for putting terrible systems in their cars.

Happy with the tech. I live in Florida, so the cooled seats are nice and heated seats are always great to have. The seats hold me well and I'd rather not take the chance of getting manual Recaros and having a chance of feeling uncomfortable in a $50k+ car (which will be the case for long trips). The sound system is lacking, mostly with the lows. I'll be installing a woofer soon. I drive my car and there will be no value difference down the road between the tech, track, and basic. The R will gain value due to the limited numbers, but I wouldn't put any stock into the GT350 as a collectors car. It's really about preference at this point. Either way, enjoy your car.

Please keep us posted on what you end up doing with your sound system.

Will do. I'm taking it to have the laser shifters installed next week and they're also an audio shop, so hopefully they'll have some ideas. It's not a car I want to break the bank on with audio equipment, so I'm hoping given there's already existing wiring for an amp, that with a new amp, sub and better speakers, we'll be at a decent level.

My GT350 came with absolutely No options on it. Yes, 49,995.
I acquired this car's configuration mainly because of circumstance, not choice.
In my area of Florida (West Coast), the ADM over MSRP was averaging 10-20K
My perfect configuration was a Shadow Black, Tech, with no stripes, no cover.
This was as close as I could come, and still pay just a bit over MSRP.
And after having this car for a couple of weeks, I am Absolutely happy and thrilled with it.
Back in Dec 2014 I special ordered a 2015 Triple Yellow GT Premium, Auto, 50th, Navigation, Security, 3.55. I had a month holdup at Flat Rock for a still undisclosed reason. When my car arrived (30 April), the undercarriage looked as though it had been through several salt baths. In fact I removed the entire corroded exhaust system, sanded, painted it, and pressure washed the whole under carriage, just so I would feel better about it.
OK, I lost the pony puddle lights, I lost SIRIUS, I lost Navigation and Sync-2, but to tell the truth, I'm not a bit regretful.
If I were to special order a GT350 I may go with the Tech package (50/50 decision)
The Recaro seats that come with the base car are really likable. I anm 6'1" and 240, and am Very comfortable in the base seats.
One thing we discovered with the base seats, Only the drivers side has 3 adjustments. The passenger side only has 2 adjustments. (You can't raise/lower it)

If the stereo is the biggest issue with this car when it arrives, I will be very happy.
I did not buy it for the stereo. I happy Ford decided not to put a $2500 sound system,
and cut some performance bits to keep costs down. Guys this is a very affordable sports
car, with some serious performance capabilities. If I was concerned about
sound systems, moon roofs and auto this and that I would have shopped a totally different car. Seems like many have bought the wrong car for what they want :)

The Recardo seats that come with the base car are really likable.
That's due to the rich, Corinthian leather...

+1 to anybody old enough to get that joke!

I was waiting for someone to say this. I don't expect a competition quality stereo or even a premier system especially because I got the track pack. I would have expected a better sound system with the tech pack but still not to the level of some of these luxury cars. BUT ... you can get a decent pair of speakers for $60 from Crutchfield for example. Just because the rest of the car is great doesn't give Ford an excuse for putting such a crappy sound system in the car. It isn't rocket science to put a decent amp and a decent set of speakers in a car. It wouldn't have to cost Ford more than a couple hundred extra dollars per car at most since they would get huge volume discounts. So don't give them an out. No one tracks these cars 100% of the time ... maybe a few R's will be ... but in the meantime time while cruising on the Interstate (and don't say just listen to the engine/exhaust cause Ford silences the exhaust in 6th gear) it isn't too much to ask to have a decent sounding audio system. What is in there now could pass for an old Radio Shack speaker that you would use for a science project.

Funny, but I think I've had the stereo on in my GT maybe twice.

I think if I owned a GT350 (Tech or not) I'm not sure if I would ever turn it on.

I had the shaker 1000 in my previous car, and it was a good system.
I rarely listen to it, when the wife is in the car, she turns it on and we listen.
I doubt I will listen to it much, but if it will only cost $5-600 to improve whats all the bitching about? Most of us will spend more on wraps, waxes or protective films LOL.
I understand ford put a cheap stereo in the car, my point was I am glad that is where
they went cheap. I realize many here would rather have a great sound system worth
1000's and then they would have bitched about the price?
Some people just have to have something to complain about or they're not happy :)
