I'm trying to decide if the extra money is worth it for the tech package. Or is anyone disappointed they didn't get either package. I'm a prospective buyer and loved the idea of having the magna ride setup but thought the seats and the rest are not going to make or break the car for me. Interested in hearing from anyone who has the tech package only or just the 900 A also. Thanks.

I got the tech and could not be happier. Only thing I disliked was the tech spoiler way to wimpy for this car so today I ordered a carbon dynamics carbon fiber replica of the track one to put on the back. But manga ride and Sync 3 are great.

The tech package is the most popular from what I've seen. I think you'll be pleased with it unless you plan on tracking the car regularly.

I have no regrets as to the tech package. The car is off the hook good anyway you slice it, but having the amenities to go with it makes the car a true drive-it and track-it car with little compromise to either........Steve

Here's my buyer's guide:

If you plan on daily'ing the car, get the Tech package.

If you plan on not daily'ing it and plan on going to the track more than a few times per year, get the Track package.

If you plan on taking it out only on the weekends, only plan on going to a track a few times or never and have another car with amenities, get the base.

The first two are not mutually exclusive the tech package does both with a few compromises to heavy tracking of the car.......Steve

They're not. But that's my advice in order of priority.

I bought the tech pack as well and I love it. For me, it's perfect. I think unless you live where it's hot all the time AND are a very fast track driver you won't need the extra cooling in the track pack car.

My planned use is daily driver with occasional track days, maybe 5 per year. I LOVE the car, but I have the Tech and regret it. If I could do it over I'd get the Track Pack. Why? Because:

1. As many have complained here, and I though they were exageratingt until I heard it myself, the sound system in the Tech is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE and SHAME ON FORD for putting such a crap audio system in a $7500 "Tech" package. It truly sounds like the shittiest audio you'd get in a base rental car. Frankly, I'm completely baffled on how Ford could have done this.

2. The seats, while certainly comfortable, are not fully "electronic." The seat back incline is a manual lever. Again, a BS move for a premium "Tech" car.

3. I much prefer the Recaros and would have paid extra to get them. The heated/cooled seats mean very little to me.

4. I hadn't noticed it before, but in the GT350 manual supplement it says ONLY the cars with diff and trans coolers (the R and Track) are capable of high speed running at track days; and that the driveline is susceptible to overheating and damage without them (i.e., the Tech Pkg.)

Basically I would only get the Tech Pkg if you need Navigation and the Sync3 system. Otherwise Track.

I don't care for leather, heated/cooled seats, or a fancy radio/navigation. I wanted recaros and the magneride, made the choice very easy. I won't be DD the car either, but even if I was, I don't think my decision would have changed.

As one of the people that said that, I've come to think that the Sync 3 software just isn't very good at adjusting the audio bands, or at least it's not what you'd expect. To get anything beyond hollow sound, I had to turn the bass to max and mids and lows down below half. You also have to have the volume up pretty high, but the hardware appears capable of producing okay to decent sound.

That's not really true, but the coolers are recommended for longevity of the fluid which in turn provides mechanical protection. The car will "limit" itself if temps get too high (presumably temperature is monitored in both the trans and the diff). The Tech car will be just fine at most track events that one will go to, most groups have sessions in the 15-20 minute range which will be just fine.

I plan on keeping the car for quite some time. Many of the "tech" features will become obsolete in that time, so I opted for the track pack which has features that will benefit the car for its entire lifetime.

Another way I chose to look at it was like this: if similar options existed back in the 60s, which would be worth more today, a 1965 GT350 with the equivalent of a "tech pack" with a fancy radio or one with a "track pack" with seats, coolers, etc.?

Just can't get enuff!
Tech is fine especially for those who wouldn't track their car and/or the Recaros are just too small or tight for their body. Personally, it was Track pkg for me since an R was unobtainable w/o paying a huge ADM. But if I was able to secure an R I would have opted for the Electronic Pkg on it.
