WOO HOO! Just got the call; my car was delivered to the dealership today!!! Incredibly, it was only ordered 27 days ago! I guess it flew through the system so fast it was untrackable; I haven't heard a peep from anyone regarding its status until now. Naturally, I am out of town until Sunday...

Mine is at the dealer now getting it's 3rd DS. Should have been done yesterday, but they never called. I suspect that means that the vibration is still there. I told the service manger to check the pinion flange because if it is out of spec, you can put 100 driveshafts in and never fix the problem. He brushed the suggestion off as a crazy idea from a customer. :headbonk:
The one reason that they thought it might be the flange was that they also service large trucks and they see issues with DSes and pinion flanges all the time. They said they talked with one of their heavy truck specialists and he told them to check it. I suspect that these vibrations are a bit more rough on a large truck than a car. Once they inspected it further, they noticed the issue.

Good luck with getting it fixed! Too bad you are not closer to PA, I would recommend the dealer that I took mine to.

So what exactly is the issue with the pinion flange that makes it out of spec and cause vibration?

The new DS is in and they say it is much better but not gone. That means it will come back, from everything I've read so far. At any rate, the field service engineer is supposed to be back tomorrow morning to look at it again. I asked them to call me when he is there so I can go and talk with him. I bet they don't... They said everything measures in spec now and they don't know what else to do. I'll let you know what the Ford engineer says. Hopefully, he actually drives it.

Really never heard or seen this I work in this field. Most vibrations in this field come from ride height being wrong. Or in extreme case's frame rails can cause from how the way they're bolt together. There not called pinion flanges we call them pinion yokes

Got the car back again... still not fixed. Actually, no better than the original DS that was in the car. The Ford engineer supposedly balanced it on the car. I should have known it wasn't fixed when they called me and said it is "much better" than it was. Much better is a code for not fixed. Hmmm, not sure where to go from here. Suggestions? Who do I call at Ford to request a buy-back- customer care?

Vibration

Well back in May when I started to drive my car
I also had issues like many others but mine is not as bad a some people talk about , I have been waiting until maybe ford could get things sorted out before I take mine in but as I see there still is no sure fix. This past weekend I. Spent at Sebring gt350 track tour event I had rented a 15 v6 convertible that had zero!!!!! Vibartion not to mention neither did the Gt 350s now I know these 15 can be smooth as silk mine will be going in as soon as I bring her out of winter storage early spring .
From past cars I have modded I do know its drive line related my drive shaft marks are lined up over the winter while in my shop I'll do some checks like ds run out pinion angle etc. Before it ever sees the dealership

I read that funny part how can it be out of spec? Especially when it's not adjustable and cannot be adjusted
Maybe it's the way the whole rear suspension & differential assembly bolts into the car, and if it's off so then the pinion angle is wrong?

Unfortunately I am not a Heavy truck specialist so I was repeating what the one guy at the shop said. All I know is that replacing that flange fixed my issue. :headbang:
