Maybe it's the way the whole rear suspension & differential assembly bolts into the car, and if it's off so then the pinion angle is wrong?

They cannot pinion angle just side to side to square with the front.

Hello BOBS550,

Welcome to the forum! Please have her bring it in to her Ford Dealer for diagnosis as soon as possible. Also, PM me with her VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this for her as well.

Deysha
Hi Deysha! This is BOBS550's daughter! Thank you for all of your help on here! We all appreciate it! I took mine in to my local Ford dealer and the gentleman already researched and educated himself on the issue and they literally had one on the lift in the middle of the switch out so I got to see the unit up close and personal!! They said they would order and should be in within 2 weeks. I will also make sure they line up the two yellow dots on the driveshaft.
I will PM you with my info so you can follow up! I know they go by VIN but I do want to make sure I get my 3:55 gears in the new one also..
THANK YOU!!!!

Just got back into town and went straight to the dealer to see if my replacement car was really there. It's really there! I will be able to pick it up as soon as Ford gets the paperwork to the dealer; it should be in the next couple of days!

I am glad some of you guys are getting some help, my dealer told me for a 2nd time its normal and a characteristic of a sports car even after the foreman rode with me and said he noticed the vibration. LOL, my 500hp turbo z with a solid diff bushing didnt vibrate like this car does. I haven't gone back in a month or so because i dont have the time to go back and forth with the shop foreman who is absolutely worthless. Not to mention he got an attitude with me when i asked him to show me the test results of runout and a log of what they checked. Doubtful that they even checked anything because my car had a film of pollen on it when i picked it back up. Worthless service department and a bad experience with my first ford so far.

Go to a different dealer and call Ford customer service. My dealer has been decent about trying to fix it and the field service engineer has worked on it twice. Still not fixed, though. My car had been in 4 times now with 2 new DS. I also don't have time for the back and forth, rental car, etc. I told the service manager Friday that I either wanted a replacement car or a buy back and he said he would talk to Ford.

Call Ford yourself and contact the BBB.

The one reason that they thought it might be the flange was that they also service large trucks and they see issues with DSes and pinion flanges all the time. They said they talked with one of their heavy truck specialists and he told them to check it. I suspect that these vibrations are a bit more rough on a large truck than a car. Once they inspected it further, they noticed the issue.

Good luck with getting it fixed! Too bad you are not closer to PA, I would recommend the dealer that I took mine to.
What dealer did you use? I'm in the midst of going through this problem with Koons Ford in Baltimore and so far they're useless. I'm going in tomorrow to do a ride along with the manager because the writer and tech who saw it before said "everything's normal" :frusty:

I wonder if Ford is telling the dealers to stonewall people on this since they obviously can't fix it.

I am running into some incompetence with the customer service reps at Ford. They do not have their acts together and my wife has now been in a loaner for almost 2 months and they have not even started on the buy back process as of last week. Going to have to call and bust some skulls.

You’re welcome to bring it in to any Ford Dealer, Oxwhite5.0. I also recommend, as requested by your dealer, to bring your vehicle back to stock for diagnosis. Let me know if you decide to bring it in.

I already returned it to stock twice at their request and both the service advisor and foreman noticed the vibration but called it normal. Bunch of bs but I will let you know when I get to a different dealer, I do not have the time in my schedule until after Christmas to go and deal with another service advisor/service department. I will not be going back to five star that's for sure.

Also I tried to contact Wendy a while back after the last visit but never heard back from her.

I'm, new to the forum but it looks like a great place to share info. Mine is a 2016 Ecoboost with automatic and about 400 miles. Vibration most pronounced at about 55 mph. It definitely feels like a drive-line vibration due to its frequency. I dropped it off at the dealer this morning and I can't wait to hear what the diagnosis is. I'll post when I find out.

Welcome to vibration/dealer hell. I stopped by my dealer and talked to the service manager again and he said he is waiting to hear back from the field service guy again. He was going to do some research and talk to engineering. Service manager said 2 out of the 8 Mustangs they have on the lot have the vibration problem but he said I'm the only one who has actually brought a car in complaining about it.

Drive your car on a smooth road from 75-80 and see if you hear the DS droning or ringing. I feel it at 55-60 and hear it at 75-80. Pretty smooth at 70-75.

Still no TSB or official acknowledgement after how many months? Seems the only thing Fors wants to do is deal with arbitration. Just plain awful. I'd sell my GT right now if the damn thing wasn't so much fun to drive.

My completely stock dash center stack is now separating from the dash right at the faux aluminum panel. The car is 4 months old.
