Yes I was thinking about trying a 1 piece drive shaft but I dont think they make one for a V-6 manual trans yet? Has anyone tried a 1 piece drive shaft on a 2015 mustang yet for the vibration??

I just had my tires replaced with a new set (to the tune of $800), but unfortunately, it DID NOT resolve the problem. I was going to stop by the dealership on my way home but didn't because I'm very mad right now and I'm trying not to be an ass. I tried to get another appointment and the SA said over and over again that Ford told them it was the tires, so I replaced the tires. That didn't resolve it, so now they'll have to deal with pissed off me.

I PM'd Steve in the thread I linked above and he said that the phasing was out on his drive shaft. He said that once it was properly phased that the problem went away. Here's what he told me about that:

"My rumble was eventually was fixed with a 3rd drive shaft replacement by a mechanic who knew how to properly phase the drive shaft in the car.

The main drive shaft in your car should have a yellow paint dot on it to indicate the light side of the drive shaft. The pinion flange on the differential should have a corresponding dot indicating the heavy side of the pinion. These dots have to be line up when the drive shaft is installed in order for it to be properly phased. Make sure they have done that. It's amazing how many people don't know this."

I'm going to contact my dealership here shortly and tell them that I want to be shown that it's properly phased and have the above described bearing replaced. In Virginia, lemon law states that if the problem cannot be fixed in three visits for the same thing within a 12 (or maybe 18) month time period, then I can apply for the lemon law and get the car replaced.

I really, really don't want to have to try to do that, but I'm not paying $30k for a car that I can't even drive and enjoy. Wish me luck, gentlemen! I'll keep everyone updated with my progress. :frusty:

On Yellow Dots....I had checked the yellow dots and marks on mine and they are lined up maybe one spline off in CVJ but pretty much lined up. There is also a yellow dot on transmission flange ear that aligns with the driveshaft dots and the center bearing has green marks on it and drive shaft u-joint. Driveshaft does have a statement written on it to "discard if dropped"! I have to get some drive time on mine and see what develops but have drive shaft on order supposedly...have not heard back. I have a subscription to Motorcraft TSB and repair manual and nothing new there on the issue of vibration and recognition of a problem.

I didn't see the yellow dot on the transmission flange ear and/or marks on the transmission end. I did see the green marks on the u-joint, but didn't see them on the center bearing. I did find two yellow marks, one dot and one mark, on the differential end though. I took a couple of pics which I'll attached below. Am I correct in thinking that it doesn't look like they're lined up properly?

On your Photos: You have one yellow dot on driveshaft I have two toward the differential end. Then on my differential flange there is a yellow swipe on the back side that lines up quite well with my yellow dots and as well with the yellow colored dog of transmission flange. I cannot see the back side of your differential flange but do not see any yellow swipe on the side or front of the flange.

There's a yellow swipe in both pics. It's right next to the topmost bolt hole on the diff flange in the first pic. The driveshaft would have to be rotated up 90°'ish to match it.

10-4 on your swipe....it is in the shade and I was not looking closely enough I guess. All my marks are very bright yellow. Surely your swipe is off the dots. Some have said you turn the shaft a bolt hole at a time and see if it helps????

My swipe is just about an 1/8" to the right of the bolt. However, the drive shaft yellow dot looks like it needs to be rotated a couple bolt holes around to even get close to the swipe mark. I'm gonna bring this to their attention tomorrow. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the swipes and dots are very bright yellow too. I guess the shade throws it off some.

Dropped it off again this morning. I specifically asked the SA to have them check a) the drive shaft phasing b) the pinion flange angle and c) the run out of the drive shafts at all three points: transmission, center support bearing, and diff flange. From my pics, I think it's definitely out of phase, but hopefully it'll get resolved. I'll update this as I hear back from them.

Good Luck!! Will definitely stay tuned...I am taking 300 mile trip Thursday so will check mine out further then and see if any improvement with additional miles. I heard back on the custom driveshaft and they said it is 4 week back order as great demand.....

Who are you looking at getting a custom DS from? I've checked out the DSS, but they only list for a manual EBM car and no auto.

I ordered from Stage3motorsports and they handle various ones to include DSS.....seemed like best deal all around and good to work with. From what DSS told them the V6 auto and GT auto are the same and they cannot keep up making them. I thought as long as the same shaft there will always be a market for the shaft as its rated at 1,000 hp.

I have a very similar vibration in my car and the Dealer swears he cannot feel it. Getting frustrated at this point but will try one more time to see if they can do good by me. GT premium PP. I had a similar vibration on my Landcruiser and a new driveshaft cured it. I know it is early in the process, but my warm fuzzy feeling with this car has gone with this and all the other little issues I have (rattles, mis-aligned panels, etc..).

1stFord...I have never had a driveshaft problem with auto before....seen the problem in big rig trucks. My F-150 runs smooth as proverbial silk....but this Mustang has some kind of problem and my new driveshaft is on its way as last resort. I know dealers well enough having worked at one for a while that they just HATE these kinds of issues and do not wish to be bothered and get little help from the Company so I feel for them. I had an antifreeze leak on my new Edge and both dealer and I knew where it was coming from (block deck) but Ford denied it, said not possible!! So after about 10,000 miles tore it down and sure enough major scratch across the deck of block...of course it would leak! Ford got egg all over their face on that....but did put in complete new engine and learned at least one lesson.

Let me help get that warm, fuzzy feeling back, Curt. Send over a PM with your VIN, mileage, full name, phone number, and dealer info. I'll look into resources on my end to further assist. :)
