Sure enough that is what FORD should be doing is analyzing the differentials and whatever else to see exactly what is wrong. Ford has to get with it!! Or else some one has to start writing to Motor Trend, AutoWeek and Car & Driver about these vibration issues.
Falconeddie...That is great news.....however I believe that is the first axel CVJ specifically indicated as a cause. Hopefully FORD service is developing a cause & effect check list for this vibration issue and will PUBLISH it for all to see and understand. Get with it FORD!!
My DS paint marks were all lined up and I did not try indexing from there before ordered new DSS DS as I also had a buzzing type noise that seemed to eminate from the hanger bearing thus thought would get rid of the whole mess of two piece DS. And with the new DSS DS buzzing noise was...
Sure suspension and all are new....that is good all around and I can tell you from experience with many previous Mustangs this one rides and rives better for all around transportation and enjoyment. The "NEW" is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the vibration issue....that is pure nonsense!! My...
Blacklaw....Good for You! But here we go again...WHY did they replace the whole differential....the "whole diff" could not have been bad! Ford needs to make it clear to all exactly what is causing these vibration issues!! This is a bunch of nonsense....where are the engineers on this???!!!
Bill....you have to wonder if the reinstallation of the IRS assembly (I assume they took the IRS pod out to install R&P) straightened or then properly aligned the IRS so that was the cure???? I have had about every Ford performance car there is from 289 to 427 to Boss 429 and never seen or felt...
Flyboy34....Just how this R&P causes vibrations and no filings or damage in the diff case is beyond me! You will have to ask the service people EXACTLY what is going on....we all need and deserve a cause & effect explanation!!
Mine was an overall shake and definite buzzing sound...no swaying of vehicle. The custom aluminum DS pretty much cured it immediately and has stayed that way. Yours sounds like previous post of maybe loose IRS sub-frame.
1stFord...That's a real downer! Are you still in touch with the FORD service rep....they have to do something for you like replace your vehicle with one you determine does not vibrate or buzz!!! Demand a replacement!!
My DSS custom one piece aluminum DS has a common yoke joint on the trans end and a CVJ on the differential end with the CVJ seeming to be much tighter on the DSS one as compared to the sloppy OEM one. My 2015 OEM DS was the two piece with yoke, hanger bearing, yoke and then CVJ; I can see on it...
The Drive Shaft Shop one piece 1,000 hp rated aluminum shaft was $799.95 freight pd. I did it myself as I have my own hoist...pretty straight forward if you have your own tools and such. You have to disconnect the exhaust system and move it out of the way....DS part is real simple. You could...
1stFord....It will be very interesting to see if that fixes your problem after all the measurements they did and came up with nothing! And if there were no filings in the diff case what can be wrong with it? This is a puzzle for sure!
Mine was a V6 with Auto......look at the survey record! I still think someone or Ford needs to put these defective vehicles on a chassis dyno and check them out to at least potentially determine if vibration & noise origin is drive train or front chassis related.
All....How about if someone or Ford can put a few of these vehicles on a chassis dyno somewhere and see if that helps to pinpoint the issue???? Drive train vs. front end anyway.
