Can anyone recommend a quality dealership in Maryland that I could take my car to? One who will actually attempt to fix the vibration/humming sound and not just tell me its normal.

What's the end shot of all this? Does Ford have a fix? My car goes in for this problem on Tuesday... TSB yet? Or will Ford tell me it's normal?

At 60 MPH the car sounds like someone with 15" woofers playing a constant deep bass is driving near me.

I've been feeling the vibration, so today I took my car to a dealer about 25 miles away, one with a better reputation than my local one. A tech drove it and then I guess put it on a lift. The verdict is bad driveshaft, which is what I figured it would be. They ordered the part. I've used this dealership before, both for purchase and service, and they haven't let me down yet.

That was my first experience. It helped, but it's still unacceptable. I was going in for my second try last weekend, but last week got hit in the rear. It's like so it should not affect anything. Car drove around after exactly the same as it did before. Trunk was untouched and closed perfectly. Body shop says there's not bending into the floorpan of the unibody, so hopefully this will not be an issue. No there is no fix from Ford. Very bad. I guess they don't care about repeat business.

Would anyone who has had there car worked and actually had it fixed. Would you please post your work order, invoice whatever it is showing what they did to your car. It would be a big help to me and my retard dealer who after fighting with them for over a month have agreed to at least look at the car for more then 10 secs.

Does anyone have a video of this issue ? What are the common characteristics besides the rear view mirror becoming blurry?

You can feel the vibration through the steering wheel, at least in my case.

It is usually at 50-70mph, it is higher frequency than a wheel out of balance (about 3x), it usually has an audible drone at the speed it is worst at. It is felt through the floor, seats, steering wheel.

That's not the same driveline issue. If you feel it in the steering wheel it could be tires or wheels. Have you had the tires road force balanced?

Even after they fixed the 'drone & chassis vibration' issue on mine, the steering wheel vibration remained & they have not been able to isolate or repair it.

Clearly 2 separate problems & some cars have both.

Sorry, incorrect.

The 50-70 driveline vibe can certainly be felt:
1) Through the floor pan (have feet flat on floor, not heel to floor.
2) Through the gas pedal.
3) Through the steering wheel (gripping it, hand on airbag or even hand under column)
4) Through the driver or passenger door if your arm, upper leg/knee or hand is on interior door panel.
5) Through the trains tunnel, put hand on side of trams tunnel.
6) Through the front seat (driver or passenger); mostly in lower seat back portion where seat back meets seat bottom.
7) Through rear seats, again same manner as fronts.
8) Through A-pillar when placing hand on pillar.

The vibe is present under constant and sustained load. The vehicle HAS to maintain speed within the "vibe mph range". Meaning, a Service Center Tech or Manager should NOT be going on a 2 minute stop-n-go ride around the dealer lot or around the block and back. They should be taking the vehicle out on a highway, getting it up to speed and SUSTAINING THAT SPEED FOR AT LEAST 10-15 MINS AND NO LESS!!

The BIGGEST issue with these Ford Service Centers is they are NOT taking the vehicle out on such a test drive at all OR the Tech is not taking it on an extended drive.

My advice to all of you who have the definitive issue is this:
YOU politely demand to take the Tech and or Servive Manager on a test drive with YOU driving the vehicle at the speeds mentioned and sustain the speed where the vibe is MOST present. Then have the Tech or Manager drive the vehicle back using the SAME EXACT route AND sustained speed.

If you leave the car and think they will experience what you experience on a daily basis, in MOST instances, you are mistaken and it will be wasted time dealing with the Service Center.

I just can't stress the above any more clear... If the Tech or Service Manager does not want to go on a test drive, or aknowledge the issue - FIND ANOTHER DEALER.

And for those that don't want to read this thread from start the end - there's been a TON of tech, vids, invoices, etc posted by MANY folks... There's so much facts and info contributed to this entire thread, that unfortunately it's a waste of time to keep re-posting and referencing such.

I just dropped my car off to finally be looked at. I gave the info that cobra gave on us post 1037 and talked with shop foreman and the service manager. They have never heard of this issue happening and unless ford comes out with a fix they will just say its a trait of the car. However they talk to a local area tech and he tried to say it was from the engine harmonics and that it has nothing to do with faulty parts being in the drive line. I said if thats true than why do all the engines have the same issue at the same speeds etc. This is gonna get ugly and im getting pissed about the whole thing.

When they replaced my driveshaft the vibration went away. I had already had the wheels balanced, rotated, and even tires replaced before that with no improvement.

If that was true, then why doesn't the vibration go away at 70 MPH when the transmission is put in neutral and the engine goes down to an idle. That little test verifies it's a vibration coming from the drive train which is still turning the same speed at 70 MPH while the engine is down to an idle.
