Can anyone recommend a quality dealership in Maryland that I could take my car to? One who will actually attempt to fix the vibration/humming sound and not just tell me its normal.

That was my first experience. It helped, but it's still unacceptable. I was going in for my second try last weekend, but last week got hit in the rear. It's like so it should not affect anything. Car drove around after exactly the same as it did before. Trunk was untouched and closed perfectly. Body shop says there's not bending into the floorpan of the unibody, so hopefully this will not be an issue. No there is no fix from Ford. Very bad. I guess they don't care about repeat business.I've been feeling the vibration, so today I took my car to a dealer about 25 miles away, one with a better reputation than my local one. A tech drove it and then I guess put it on a lift. The verdict is bad driveshaft, which is what I figured it would be. They ordered the part. I've used this dealership before, both for purchase and service, and they haven't let me down yet.
CobraJet posted his as I recall - search thru his posts in this thread.Would anyone who has had there car worked and actually had it fixed. Would you please post your work order, invoice whatever it is showing what they did to your car. It would be a big help to me and my retard dealer who after fighting with them for over a month have agreed to at least look at the car for more then 10 secs.
It is usually at 50-70mph, it is higher frequency than a wheel out of balance (about 3x), it usually has an audible drone at the speed it is worst at. It is felt through the floor, seats, steering wheel.Does anyone have a video of this issue ? What are the common characteristics besides the rear view mirror becoming blurry?
That's not the same driveline issue. If you feel it in the steering wheel it could be tires or wheels. Have you had the tires road force balanced? You can feel the vibration through the steering wheel, at least in my case.
Even after they fixed the 'drone & chassis vibration' issue on mine, the steering wheel vibration remained & they have not been able to isolate or repair it.You can feel the vibration through the steering wheel, at least in my case.
Sorry, incorrect. That's not the same driveline issue. If you feel it in the steering wheel it could be tires or wheels. Have you had the tires road force balanced?
If that was true, then why doesn't the vibration go away at 70 MPH when the transmission is put in neutral and the engine goes down to an idle. That little test verifies it's a vibration coming from the drive train which is still turning the same speed at 70 MPH while the engine is down to an idle.I just dropped my car off to finally be looked at. I gave the info that cobra gave on us post 1037 and talked with shop foreman and the service manager. They have never heard of this issue happening and unless ford comes out with a fix they will just say its a trait of the car. However they talk to a local area tech and he tried to say it was from the engine harmonics and that it has nothing to do with faulty parts being in the drive line. I said if thats true than why do all the engines have the same issue at the same speeds etc. This is gonna get ugly and im getting pissed about the whole thing.
