Until a TSB is issued, each dealer will probably try to fix it in order of least cost instead of most likely to fix.

FWIW, I called my dealer (Ray Skillman Southside Ford, large Midwest dealer for Mustangs), and discussed this briefly. Service adviser said Yes they have Road Force Balancer and Yes to in-vehicle NVH instrumentation.

So maybe finding, and then calling, a larger volume dealer may help.

Since mine is quite minor (especially compared to the descriptions in this thread), my plan is to wait until I put on new wheels next season, and then see if the slight vibration remains. That rules out the wheels/tires/roundness/balance first.

But I feel the pain of others.:brokenheart:

Hey Ford - can you get off your asses and come up with a TSB and solve this thing.

Since you built it and you have the engineers.

I understand, Cobra Jet. Since I'm not a tech or an engineer, I won't have "fix" for you. However, you should continue to work with your dealer. Also, I'm happy to get this escalated for you. Please PM me back with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.

I understand you're not a Tech or Engineer - that's fine - but what I am asking of you is that you ARE an internal Ford Employee - who CAN go to your Support or Management Team and request that they review this very thread. We are asking that someone within Ford ELEVATE this concern to the proper Teams (Engineering?) for further review.

It's not about a paint chip - it's a genuine driveline drivability concern. I mean for some folks having to have the entire rear pumpkin replaced, axles or differential flanges replaced on a brand new vehicle - c'mon now, what more does Ford need to issue a proper TSB?

I know mine has it but it is very subtle. Would be difficult to get the dealer to agree, but I might try. As a machinist, I know a high speed vibration when I hear/feel it.

Thanks for the PM, Cobra Jet. This is why I'm ensuring this is documented for you as well.

My car spent about 28 days in the shop and had the driveshaft and rear differential replaced. The dealership called me Friday to tell me that the car was complete and drove 'like a dream.' I picked it up and immediately upon hitting highway speeds noticed that the vibration, far from being gone, was actually worse. I have a Ford customer service rep assigned to my case but so far he's done nothing but act as an intermediary between myself and the dealership (as far as I can tell, anyway).

I'm really regretting my decision to buy one of these cars. It's a great machine but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle now. The dealership has possessed the car as long as I have at this point and I've been offered nothing but "I'm sorry."
Damn, that is horrible.

I know you have had your wheels balanced.. but you need to have someone with a Hunter Road force tire balancer road force the tires.. We had a lexus with a shake that no one could figure out.. had it at the dealer several times.. and we road forced the wheels.. tire was out of round.. you can't tell that by a normal balancer. Road force machine will measure the Rim runout as well as tire run out.. if it is with in acceptable level the machine will tell you to mark the tire and the wheel and position the tire heavy spot opposite the wheel heavy spot.. BUT if it isn't in spec it will show that..

Look into road force balancing machine.. you really need to try it.

Mine was road force balanced twice. Still vibration is unchanged. Now I'm on my second set of wheels. This time the are oem wheels. Same vibration. This problem appears to have nothing to do with wheel balance or axial runout. My dealer has decided to change the driveshaft after having success with another used 2015 on the lot with the same issue. I should have it installed next week.

Found this and only noticed one complaint for this vibration issue, maybe if more of us voice here action might be taken up by Ford or an investigation will begin with the nhtsa.

I think the problem is that it's not really a safety problem. It is annoying and makes you question the quality of the car, but it's not going to cause a crash or loss of control.
I was surprised that the field engineer said that there were only a few entries into the database regarding this problem. That tells me that the dealers are not reporting it correctly.

It's not safety issue. Some just try to go great lengths but in wrong area. Sounds just like 2011 with MT82 using Gov almost every complaint was the same. Was disproved by Ford then things calmed down

Dealer not getting manufacture involved for what ever reason.

Like us at my dealership worked on Cat engine had 20 hrs in diag it. After going through T/S got factory involved. Did crap loads of tests, regens, changing parts. Came down to sensor was at fault but failed in range. Guess what we got only paid for 1 hr changing sensor. Then have to get our area Cat rep involved to get paid for rest of it well most of it. It took 9 months to collect fun fun

A FSE is on his way to check out mine, so on Jan 26 I should know whether mine is fixable or not. I finally got around to putting a vibe meter on (there's an app for everything!), and compared mine to a different Mustang. The SM at the dealer cautioned me that the road in front of the dealer was usually not good to do the tests on. I tried it and another road. Interestingly, the dealer car (16 GT FB with 20's and A/T) was night and day better than my 15 V6 convertible with 18's. No one has a convertible nearby, but based on the poll/survey in this thread I am willing to bet that another convertible would be equally different. I've posted the output from the vibe meter held to the top of my steering wheel during the drive at 59 mph with cruise control.

Steering wheel vibes do not apply to this thread IMO. There has to be a better location for driveline vibes.

I agree that there are better places to measure the vibration from, and I also feel it through the seat and elsewhere. The steering wheel was simply the best place to hold my iPhone against to take measurements. Obviously, I could spring $300 or so for a vibration measurement kit, but was primarily looking to simply compare two different cars.
