Drive shaft was off 90*; they are moving it now.

It was minor to begin with, but now it is a lot less. I would say livable as is. I'm thinking my catback will mask whatever is left.

I am back in my Mustang after it being at the dealer for a week. The noise and shake is gone! When they replaced the DS, he said the shake was gone for the first 5 miles or so, and then it came back when he was returning to the shop. After checking out the differential and the lashing coming up proper, he said that they looked at the pinion flange. After inspecting it as compared to a new unit that they had at the shop, there were some inconsistencies with the unit on my car. After consulting with Ford Engineering, they replaced the flange and tested the car. They came back with no shake measured.

I am wondering if some of the diffs that were replaced were due to a bad pinion flange - this was the first 2015 that had this issue at that dealer, so they were examining every possible reason for a shake.

TLDR; Bad Driveshaft and Pinion Flange - Replaced both and shake has gone away.

Chris, is your car still good? Vibration hasn't returned since the pinion flange change? They are doing that on my car tomorrow, so hopefully it works...

Well, I finally took initiative and had the car put up on a lift. Look at what we found:

After reindexing the shaft at the rear flange and aligning the yellow marks, vibration is completely gone!!!

What's strange is that it looks like there was a weight where they X-ed it out with blue. Have to wonder how they are balancing these drive shafts before they are installed at the factory.

I'm also wondering if some of these cars that magically start having a vibration after thousands of miles were put on them might have had a balancing weight come off the drive shaft.

Still good after about 300 miles. I have had it up to the point of the worst vibration before and its gone now. Almost feels like a different car.

Just submitted my complains with BBB and the Department of Justice.
I had it at this point, I have been really understand but now its time to seek some justice.
Had the car for almost a year now and half of the time I have just been running back and fort to the dealer to be Ford's test bunny, and I have to pay for rental!

In the end I just want a working car but if FORD doesn't even pick up the phone what can you do?..40 calls and one answer, it's ridiculous..

It looks like my issues are finally over. The very minor vibration is something I can live with as long as it doesn't get worse.

Been there since I purchased the car. The whole DS looks like it has seen many modifications.

Is it possible for an improperly indexed DS like that with a serious vibration to cause failure in the pinion after prolonged use? Just curious.

Well, I finally took initiative and had the car put up on a lift. Look at what we found:

After reindexing the shaft at the rear flange and aligning the yellow marks, vibration is completely gone!!!

I finally enjoy driving the car like I did when first purchased it.

I guess that is Ford's version of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey". Sometimes they get it right. And sometimes they get it wrong with hilarious consequences. Fun for all.

Possible, but the vibration would make you get something fixed before it damaged the pinion bearing. Plus, most people just won't drive the car in the "bad" range since it is too annoying. My car is bad at 60 but pretty good at 70. I avoid 60 as much as possible.
