I am currently debating which one to get either a v6 or an ecoboost. I like the sound of v6 and wheels of ecoboost premium package. (Not eco premium) My question is : If I were to lease one of them what would be the difference in monthly payment? Approximately? Anyone currently leasing an ecoboost with premium package? I would like to know monthly payment for both of them. I know it differes depends on your credit but assuming your credit is good enough. Thank you guys!

If I had to pick between those two it'd be the ecoboost hands down. Factory FI engines are the way to go.

Ford limits the options available on the V6, so they drive to the Ecoboost to get the options you want.

We have an Ecoboost Escape, and to be frank, I wish I could have gotten a V6, because I am not impressed with the fuel mileage of the Ecoboost. My V8 Mustang gets the same MPG at 70.

I would venture a guess that aerodynamics have more than a little to do with that.

Weight and aero and how much you have the foot down.

Turbos suck with MPG when you are in boost. It's definitely a misleading engine in terms of MPG.

I really wish I would of leased a V6 051a Manual.. instead I financed an ecoboost base automatic.. Lol.

What I really wanted was a GT.. insurance premium kept me out of that so I thought the ecoboost was the best bet what with the aftermarket support and performance per dollar until I realized that the risk of having to replace an engine out of pocket is not worth an extra 60hp.. especially when my goal has always been a GT.

So.. my point to you is, if you care about the premium amenities then there's no choice, you have to go Ecoboost to get those features. However, if you're more budget orientated and have plans for something else in the near future and don't really see yourself getting into an EB long term, I'd say lease a V6 which will be cheaper and is proven reliable until your lease is up then get something better.

You're going to eat it hard in depreciation on a premium ecoboost.. believe that. The V6 is already such a great value I don't see it getting that much lower especially when some dealers are letting them go with all the available options for as low as 20k..

Take what the guy above me is saying with a grain of salt. All he does is complain about his EB... A lot of us love our ecoboosts.

They aren't that bad honestly. You're only going to be in boost most of the time if you drive like a jackass around town and highway merging and I actually feel that after I'm in boost I get improved mpg versus driving below 2k to get to flow of traffic.

I think you have some good points. I bought a 2015 v6 on a whim last summer because I wanted to be budget oriented. However, I wanted a GT.
I regretted the decision ever since and desperately wanted out of the car. I ended up getting a great deal on a GT and am selling the v6.

The point is budget oriented or not always buy what you want if you're making a purchase. I know a lot of people are money conscious and there isn't anything wrong with saving or being tight (I'm fairly conservative) but when it comes to a car I have to drive every day, a car I have to clean and a car I have to pay on every month. I find it's better to go with what you want rather than pinching pennies. Plus, if you have the credit to get a good interest rate then your talking a separation of 100-120 bucks a month (maybe) from base v6 to loaded GT. You'll be more willing to pay a note in something you find valuable. My v6 was cheaper, but I hated paying it...The GT is a little more, but I couldn't care less, because I enjoy it.

The V6 is going to drop in value quick, mine dropped almost 8grand in value over an 8 month time span...
