Really depends on your area, but I'd probably say it's more accurate to say that people who can afford to spend more on a car are leasing a 3 Series or a C class.

Or those (in my opinion) hideously ugly CLA's that are more common than Honda Civics around here now...
There is a ton of bmw's, audi, mercedes, land rover, etc rolling around Jax.

[FONT=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial] Dear Justin,

Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company. We appreciate the time you have taken to write to us. We want to thank you for your service to our country.
The 2015 Mustang models are estimated to arrive on dealer lots in late September. You will not be able to preview the Guard color in person before this time. The other colors you indicated are available on 2014 models with the exception of Magnetic; however, it is offered on the newly released Super Duty. Your local dealer may have this model on their lot so that you can see this color in person.

You can view all of the available information on the 2015 models and also sign up to receive updates by visiting

Did they call you to reschedule the test drive? Mine is for the 25th. I'm curious if I will get a call or if they'll just be standing me up....or if a demo car is actually being brought around to test drive (not an actual dealer stock car). :frusty:

I have a co-worker who ordered her car back in may as soon as the dealer order banks opened and she's been getting increasingly annoyed by what seem to be unexplained delays. I've been telling her for a while that Ford actually has two major launches going this fall w/ the Mustang and F150 which are bread and butter for the company so they have to the get them both 100% right coming out of the gate.

It wouldn't surprise me if all of the craziness w/ the GM recalls has FoMoCo a bit spooked and they're being extra-extra cautious and they just sort of underestimated how difficult it would be to do two major launches like this so close to each other.

Why is she annoyed? Didnt she know when she ordered that the order wouldnt be here till Fall of 2014 ( Sept 22-Dec 1st) ?

F150 is actually delayed, but so far Mustang is not delayed.
Its just that a lot of people were thinking/hoping it would be here summer of 2014, while Ford has all along aimed for fall 2014 ever since the vehicle was announced Dec 4 2013.

Eh yeah, she's annoyed b/c she's self-admittedly one of the most impatient "instant gratification" people you'll ever meet AND she already turned in her 2013 Mustang on trade in to take advantage of the highest value so I suppose looking out in her driveway and seeing no Mustang at all has a heightened impact.

Also, while I completely get what your saying, the prolonged marketing that did start with that big splash on Good Morning America back in December of last coupled w/ how the internet tends to amplify expectations by an order of 10 I think has actually sort of worked against Ford. Yes, there's big hype about the car and there has been for almost a whole year, but honestly you kind of have to wonder why you'd have a big fanfare announcement for a 2015 car in 2013 especially given NAIAS was even still more than a month away at that point. Also the slow and sporadic drip of information and details about the car have only annoyed people b/c the way electronic information works these days the moment something is released it's instantly widely disseminated and it tends to only make the masses want more almost immediately.

I just think they've overplayed the hand on this one and I wouldn't be surprised if they had it to do again they'd hold off on the official unveil at least until NAIAS in January and not start taking orders until the summer. At least until they could give people more firm production and delivery dates.

. . . to that end though, one of the things I have assured my co-worker, by this time next year no one will even remember what all this impatience fuss was about. ;)

I received my Order Code today from my dealer...went to the Ford Custom Order Tracking website and there it was! She's still currently in "In Order processing" as she should (retail units will come after the initial lot of stock vehicles hit the dealers so Ford can refine and take care of any "glitches" prior to first retail units leaving the factory) be but it is nice to see that Vehicle summary page! Sadly, the weather in Western PA will have me garaging the new mount probably until late spring by the time it gets to the dealer and into my hands! Bummer!

Sorry to hear that. I live in Philly and I'm throwing a set of Blizzaks on it and driving it all winter.

I think this is part of the problem and I'm not picking on Phlyguy, but I think a lot of people who ordered early had hoped that even though Ford was telling them it would be "fall" before they would see the car most folks hoped it would be as early in the fall as possible. Also rightly or wrongly, I think there's a difference between what a lot of people think of essentially "fallish" at the end of August, i.e. when the kids go back to school, you flip the calender over to September and you can actually start to tell that daylight is getting a little shorter vs the technical definition of Fall pointed out by RisingForce as starting on Sept. 22. I would imagine that fact that parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas have already had snow this "fall" and the prediction is for an early, harsh and lengthy cold season this year ( much like last year ) has people in areas where they have this kind of weather to contend reasonably concerned and :brokenheart: about receiving their new hot rod in the middle of a snow storm. :tsk:
