You asked about Livernois, So I put this out for your edification.

It's not light reading, I believe the thread is up to 35 pages. You may not need to read all of it in order to reach a conclusion.

Thanks for the post, I was just logging on to search past history posts and saw your reply.

Its such a tough decision.

People say LUND is horrible and there is the public post from a company bashing them. There social media is littered with them arguing with customers.

PBD has users here saying they are horrible as well.

Then I see this that Livernois did this to that 15 GT.

Unsure where to go.

Whew.

You are welcome. I hate to muddy the waters, but that thread is out there and most of the information presented was before my time as an S550 owner, but I believe the business practices they are showing towards many participants in that thread, if I were looking for tuning, would make me think twice.

Lund WERE the guys 5 or 10 years ago, but it seems that they have outgrown their reputation and have been less than stellar the last several years, although they do still have many happy customers.

PBD has a big presence and I know they too have had a lot of success over the years, but I have seen where one of their most successful tuners, left them earlier this year and they are having issues.

I am not tuned by Wengerd, I don't know the man personally, and have no incentive to promote him other than my own incentive of wanting to give another human being good advice. I have only ever seen one or two people, in the last 18 months, ever say anything negative about his tuning or customer service. I have seen dozens, if not more, people singing his praises. You may want to look at him. Just saying. 🤷

Have you looked at Ortiz’s performance. I heard they do good work.

Not to hijack, but how does logging and tuning work? Do you need access to a dyno to log?

No. You can log by hooking your tuning device and recording what it sees as you are driving. Your tuner will tell you what he wants to see. Like slow steady throttle increase from 1500-3500 rpm, or a 3rd gear roll do a wide open throttle run, etc.

Depends on who your tuner is. If they use an Ngauge, you do it with that. If its an SCT you'll need a laptop to ride along with you. I believe the RTD does it through an app on your phone.

I really appreciate the advice. I have been deep diving all of the Wengerd threads over the last few days and honest it seems great. Lots of happy customers and he is active in the discussions.

I have not but I will look into it now.

Before i tuned my own car with HPT i used lund. Ended up having some weird issues with the tune that they refused to even look at unless i paid. so i paid and they basically emailed right back and said "everything looks fine" except my car would literally stall all the time in drive thrus. My car only had a JLT intake and Catback too... Ended up going my own route with hpt and literally changed nothing and my car ran 5x better than the cookie cutter copy and paste lund tune. Ive heard similar about PBD, never used them. Never heard anything bad about Wengerd

I have read a lot of tuning threads on here and I've read several bad stories about lund, pbd, and a few about livernois. I have never read any thing bad about wengerd. If you're only going to tune for 91 or 93, why not look at ford performance power pack. Their tune is spot on, afterall if anyone can write a good tune it would be the engineers at ford. The kit also comes with the GT 350 CAI and an 87 mm throttle body and are 50 state legal. The ford setup leaves some HP on the table compared to aftermarket, but NOBODY does driveability better than they do, NOBODY.

Oh and since the gen 3 coyotes have 12 to 1 compression, they love and respond well to ethanol. The fuel system can supply enough to run E85 on a N/A setup. Also, the factory and ford racing tune like the one mentioned above will support an E30 mix out of the box. I can't say for sure if any aftermarket tune will, you would have to ask them.

After doing some research I think I am going to go with Livernois. Has anyone used them before? They also have a tuning device that seems pretty good, anyone have experience with it?

I am very happy with my Livernois tune. Trapping 118mph in 2600DA on a Flex tune with E85 on a 2019 Bullitt. Zero other mods. All season Continental tires too.

They use the same physical device Ford Performance uses. They're also listed on the certification paperwork for the Ford Performance tuner. A long time strategic partner.

30mpg on 2 occasions on 1hr highway drives on 93 octane this summer, averaging 72-75mph. No issues at all. Maybe started kind of clunky on E85 1 out of 12 times for a month, which is pretty normal on a Flex tune....then never again after that.

Just swapped back to 93 with the weather getting cold here, zero issues.

Have had other tuners in the past, would absolutely use Livernois in the future, even on a different platform or make.

Will also mention the value is unbeatable. $699 for 93 and Flex/E85 tune....anywhere else is $200-$500 more.

I don't think you would be disappointed with Wengerd, at all.

Wengerd is the way to go.
I’ve used another tuner in the past, and All I can say is once switching to Wengerd, it was a night and day difference….
