Trunk Struts

Heavyweight Trunk struts fitted..
Unfortunately, the trunk does not pop right up after release. I have the Steeda Functional Race Wing, on assurance that Steeda had tested the strut kit with this extra weight I purchased a set.

I can bounce in my seat or rock the car and it opens OK, but get some funny looks if I do. I have worked WD40 into all the hinge pins, but still have a sticking issue. The Struts had the right label on the bag as heavy duty version.

No having Automatic complete pop up isn’t the end of the world... hey ho.

Well I’m waiting for my heavy struts hoping they work with my California Special wing. If they work great, if not they’re going back. As you said, not the end of the world.

I ordered the Steedas the other day, but then got an email saying they are back ordered for a good 3 weeks. I wish they'd say that on their page instead of after me ordering. I had to cancel because I'm not going to be around in 3 weeks. I'll have to wait. Have read good things about them on here though.

I might be the only one that is glad that my trunk does not fly open. What if I unknowingly hit the open button and it's raining outside or I have valuables in the trunk. Those with grandchildren, what if they play with the fob. If my trunk is unlatched unknowingly, the car will warn me when I start it.

Nope, I like that it just pops but doesn't open, too. To the casual observer, mine doesn't even look open when it is.

I want mine to be strong enough that If I need extra downforce at high speed I can just pop the trunk. ;)

So just got my heavy duty struts for the GT/CS. They work very nicely. Thanks to John at Steeda for taking care of this for me.
