Shift knob is no longer just a knob but instead an AI knob that knows my inermost secrets. And heart rate.
holy hell, just wait till they add that sensor, and report it along with "incontrovertible proof that you were speeding" to the local police. Yes, Ford actually is looking to patent that. Snitches get stiches.

Are their any legitimate/published statistics about their failure rate?

Not being snarky, literally just don't know. And the Internet tends to make people think everything explodes unless it's a Toyota 😂
Funny thing is I actually saw a Toyota with a rod through the block; nice big gaping hole.

Well I got a call from the service manager at demontrond. She called to tell me they had a loaner set up for me but it fell thru because the customer's cat that has it isn't ready. I'm like you called to tell me that??? WTF... so I ask when they'll be looking at my car... she doesn't know. When will a loaner be available? 90 days.... so I casually ask if I need to get an attorney to get this resolved and she says "you said attorney, I can't talk to you anymore" and hung up!!! WOW
They are not allowed to talk to you if you mention attorney, gotta go through big Ford and the legal office now. Stupid move, they will mark your account and shutdown work most likely too

Going to be even more sad news when you get your lawyer and they tell you dealerships are not required to give you a loaner and you have to call back and apologize

I actually spoke to an attorney and he said I have a valid lemon law claim. If things don't get moving at the dealer it's at, I'll move it to planet ford. Already went in and talked to service manager. He'll gladly take the car and get the repair started. Luckily this will all be covered once way or another. A buyback is on the table. Also the dealer where I purchased is part of a large auto group (Demontrond), and I will explore that angle as well. They do not care for 1 star reviews.

I don't know where you heard this but this is just 100% false. My dealership will rebuild transmissions, differentials, and long blocks (they usually will order a shortblock but will assemble the longblock).

From what I have heard from lots of people on the forums the dealerships are preferring to rebuild the 10r80 rather than order a new unit.
The guess the folks doing the rebuilds are so good at it they tear them down and rebuild them in hours. You need the updated CDF drum and the "trash can" all of the planetaries sit it. The F clutch steels are kicking the crap out of the splines the mesh with. There is a revised can as well. Pay the difference for the good reybestos clutches.

Ford may, probably will, install their updated parts but are unlikely to allow upgraded aftermarket parts like the clutches.
When they replaced my headgasket they refused to install upgraded head studs. They wouldn't order them nor allow me to buy and deliver them. It was a hard no.

Here's the latest update: ford Roadside is moving the car from one dealership to another dealership . Demontrond Ford does not want to fix it and shuffled me off. Planet Ford is a much larger dealer and I hope they'll get this sorted out soon. I've contacted Demontrond corporate and that got Demontrond Ford moving, but really didn't do anything but force me to take the repair to planet. I previously spoke with Kyle at planet. He said transfer the car and they would fix it...... still don't have a loaner
.... this has become quite the process.

Do I leave an appropriate review for Demontrond, or just keep my mouth shut and wait?

@Mikestang20 might want to change your name to 'Mikamaro' and go chevy. This stuff right here is why i'll likely never buy another relatively new ford ever again. and absolutely not 'new'.
They basically told me to pound sand on covering my paint repair, i have aluminum corrosion all over my front 3 panels. My wife's first escape went thru 2 transmissions, never got any assistance getting into a newer vehicle from ford corporate or the dealer. we bought a brand new escape titanium, that went thru THREE ENGINES in 60,000 miles but they did at least cover a rental at the local Enterprise. but we had to get pre-authorization from the dealership to go to the local enterprise and they then gave us the better/affordable rates.

I now own a 22 silverado with the 6.2L that i bought brand new right off the delivery truck from the assembly plant and i couldn't be more happy with my GM A10.... just sayin' and good luck

Some are militant and some reasonable. I suppose if they follow the doctrine like robots, they won't warranty the work unless they use their sub par parts

I have a dealer installed Roush Stage 2 supercharger. That took 2 years of my warranty and makes me ineligible for extended warranty. The tranny blows and it's on my dine so if it happens it will get the good parts

Get them to install the new and improved trash can though
