Hey guys, my transmission gave up the ghost last night. 32k miles, multiple stays at dealership for transmission issues ( we can't find anything wrong blah blah blah) stock 22 gt premium A10 3.55 gears. Dealer has no loaner for 60 days, I know the transmission will need a complete rebuild or replacement. ford customer care is useless. Does anyone have a number to get to higher level of management that might help expedite this process? Thanks

your car is broke under warranty = they should put you in a rental at their expense.

raise hell until that happens and i bet they get you a loaner.

They told me they didn't have any for 2 months! LMFAO.... then customer care advised me to rent a car, must be a ford vehicle, max $45 per day and I would be reimbursed later. I'm like are you f-ing kidding? Can't rent a skateboard for that. At the minimum it'll need a transmission rebuild, and that will take months

Honestly it is super difficult for a dealership to do with another rental company. I would contact Ford directly and let them know what's goin on and it will be a lot easier to get a rental covered through a 3rd party. Some dealerships have a relationship with a car rental agency if this is in a larger city.

Speaking from experience (not that I'm trying to say it's ok with what's going on, however, the dealer I used to work at before my current place of employment was not a large dealership and we only had like 4 car rentals which was never near enough).

edit: As soon as I finished this I saw you had commented again

Try a different dealer....shop it around until one helps you. Dealers want these $8K jobs. Even if have to pay $500 to transport it.

Can also sue immediately and see how far they come up with loaner after served.

they're bullshitting you. talk to the GM directly and calmly make it very clear that you will be very annoying if they don't treat you right. last resort, find another dealer.

Looks like your options are limited based on the Ford Service Center you’re using. If the car is there sitting in their lot, you don’t have any real options - because they won’t move it to another Ford Dealer.

Ford Customer Care should assign you a Case #, did they? The Case # elevates the priority on the car.

The only elevation is to call back the Ford 800#, ask to speak to a Supervisor and give them your Case #. Explain that you can’t afford to put out of pocket the cost of a rental and you need to be put into loaner ASAP. Also explain that you’re a new Ford Customer (even if you’re not) and having your transmission fail at only 22k miles is unacceptable and you don’t have confidence in the product or buying another Ford.

Also if you have a note on the vehicle, ask that you be reimbursed for each month it’s not in your driveway…. And then ask what else are they going to do to compensate you… since the concern was previously addressed and not fixed and here you are now without a car.

Do it with a professional tone and don’t start screaming, hollering, cussing - because that won’t get you any further….

None of the dealers in my area have loaners available. They're literally months out with a waiting list. I've contacted another dealership to try to move the car to them and get a loaner. Shitshow . Everyone is stuck on Covid mode still, and they will milk it for years. And of course the GM at the dealer where I purchased the car and where is currently at is at a convention in Las Vegas

My dealer has Enterprise on site and they gave me a loaner for 2-3 days free just for driver seat upholstery replacement (under warranty)

Is there a 2 month back order on transmissions, or is the shop backed up on work for 2 months? If the transmission is bad, wouldn't it make more sense to replace the entire unit instead of rebuilding? I would think a transmission remove and replace would not take all that long. Best of luck getting it resolved.

Transmission line is about 30 deep probably.... it has been every time so far. I'm sure new transmission is on backorder.... I'll wait it out a couple days before I start hounding them

Customer care says the only option is that I rent a vehicle and get reimbursed later. I guess I'll have to hire an attorney

Dealers don't re-build anything anymore. They get a certified OEM reman unit and install it.

I think you’re overthinking this. Could be wrong. I know from Chevrolet they’ll just replace it and usually around a week. I don’t have any experience with Ford. What I don’t understand is the ones saying Ford owes you a rental. I’d like to know where this entitlement is written? When I bought my ā€˜16 they offered a pay up front (set amount) and I would get a rental. But never has anyone told me if my car was in for warranty repair I was entitled to a rental or loaner.
