When you touch them, flip them, you can tell it's not plastic/chrome.That's what I was thinking. The last thing he's probably thinking about is what specific material the toggles are made of. It conflicts with other Ford staff.
I mean, you can SEE the difference in finish just by looking at these pictures. There's a chrome bezel around the instrument binnacles, the cupholders, and the shiftboot. Even a small ring of chrome band covering maybe >5% of the shifter head, and little chrome guards/dividers between the toggles.
But the toggles and HVAC/volume knobs look like aluminum with a pearl metallic finish.
