That's dumb. Tire is tire. Just mount it.
It's the difference between the judgment nature of engineering and the hard pass-fail character of the legal profession.

I seriously thought they might want to sell some tires, IDK. Oh well back to Tire Rack.

Goodyear says they don't have tires in my size. Worth calling them and asking or just move on to Bridgestone?

Just ask for the specific tire size. Don't tell them what car it's for. You know what size you need and you know it'll fit. They don't need to know anything else.

My only concern was the previous owner. He cut the springs to drop the ride height.

Use this to see your change in dimensions and take measurements on your actual car to see if you have any clearance issues.

If you want new tires for the track, you may want to address the springs first. If you do in fact have cut springs, you'll be hitting the bump stops often

That depends on how much was cut off, and to a lesser extent on the cutting method used.

Tracks in my area are generally smooth. Nothing like the last corner in Sebring LOL

Never really got a straight answer as to when I should make the change from Fire Hawk Indy 500s or what to change to.

Regardless, where do you guys read good reviews? I'm tired of the "took the car to 7/11 and it rode good" type of comments.

I've seen people at the track swap perfectly good tires just to try changing steering bias. I wanna pick those guy's brains and see how you come up with so much tire knowledge.
I know I'm a little late to this discussion, but here is my "two cents" (FWIW, I'm a HPDE instructor with 20+ yrs of track experience).

I bought a set of Indy 500s (265/40-19, square) last spring in hopes that they could be my summer street/track tire. Not good (for me) on track. Low grip, howled incessantly on track. But, great tire on the street. Quiet, good grip, wet or dry. As a matter of fact, when my '17 GT Vert needs new tires, I will probably get Indy 500s. Great street tire.

After I determined the 500s would not work on track, I took the plunge to get a dedicated track wheel/tire setup. 19x11s with 305/30 Supercar 3Rs (Note: These are omnidirectional tires, allowing them to be rotated across all four corners). Wow!!! Talk about grip. This combined with the FP Track Pack suspension gave me enough grip to hang in the corners with ANYTHING (well, short of a Radical). I should add, that I managed to pick these 3Rs up last spring as a Tirerack close out for $212 ea. That helped to justify the fact that they weren't gonna last long, and they didn't.

I'll be ordering new track tires for spring. I love the extra grip from the 3Rs, but I think I'll probably go with the standard Supercar 3 (220 TW vs 100 on the R). This should still provide plenty of grip, but hopefully last a bit longer (after all, no prize money in HPDE!).

Other cars & Tires: I did run RE71s on a 944 Turbo. They were great. And I ran Dunlop Direzza Star Spec on a '72 911. These tires were great too, and on my 2350 lb 911, they lasted forever (with a 200 TW).

With respect to installation, find a good installer. I have a guy that has installed tires out of a one car stall for decades. Does tons of PCA and Vette club guys too. Never had a problem. One time, I took my 944 track wheels to the local Firestone center. After a few hot laps at Road America, I started to hear "bang, bang, bang" coming from the fender wells as I'm flying down the straights. Sure enough, they hadn't bothered to clean the wheel before they affixed the weights and they came flying off. Never again!

Good luck on your tire search.

Hi
I tested multiple 100 and 200 tw tires
on track
List
3R Gy A052yoko CR1(nankang) cup2 nittoNT01 RE71.
I also have experience/ with SC3( good year)azenis 615 and news rt660(falken)

So here the standing for track (performance only)
3R>A052>CR1>RT660=CUP2>SC3>re71>NT01

if still a daily i would avoid 3R. Not nice when cold and impossible when rainy.
A052 only 18"
I honestly would go RT660. They are greta when cold ready to go on track. Nice wearing. Nice in the wet.
Alternative is SC3(good year) .standard on ss 1le they are really fast and nice confort for daily. Not good on rain.

My 2 cents
If you track more than 4 times a year i strobgly suggest a set of extra rims. Safe lots of money in the long run.
Hope this helps.

Yoko did release A052 in 19" now. I think fairly recently

Also, Ale, where would you say the RR fits into that line?

A set of 18x11's with A052's showed up today. The stack of 295 Yokes is definitely taller than the stack of 305 Stones. I hope they don't rub.
