Yep I have both opg and timing gear. I recently made over 800 with the Whipple!! Just waiting on the track to open.
Wow that's great power. Post some time slips once out to the track.

Hoping for something close with a centri.

i cant like this post enough. those are kickass numbers.

OPG/timing gear? (being that it is a 3.73 M6 car?)
All stock for now.. We haven't had any issues yet *knock on wood*. ;)
It's more about detonation and harmonics.. We've never broken either in 5 years of coyote tuning.

This was also said by Whipple I believe that a good safe calibration with detonation control goes a long way to keep inflation your motor together.

Should this be changed if you are running a Twin Turbo or just blower cars?

For the kind of power that a TT set up is going to create, I would get them. But that's just my opinion, and you may not "need" them. If your going through the process of the TT install, I'd say it's a great time to install the OPG's and timing gear. It comes down to money and level of effort on the build. If you don't mind spending the $600 for the parts, then theres really no reason not to do it. If you really don't like the idea of spending the additional cost, then bypass it. Then there is also install.. if your doing it yourself then cool, if your not, then you have the added cost for install time. For me it's a no brainer on a TT set up tho. You are probably going to be well over 800HP on TT set up. Just comes down to, what do you wana spend.

I have Whipple 680 hp.. with OPG & TG. I am looking to change harmonic pully 20% with 10 rib and 3.625 pully. Is stock engine capable for that?

We've come to believe that timing gear and opg breakage are related to detonation, and the shock/harmonics that occur through the crank because of it. We've never broken a set of gears at the 700-800whp level with our Kenne Bell based packages. Neither has anyone reported back to KB about breakage. So, that's hundreds of kits in over a year without a single problem.

This is what I'm talking about, and Whipple has the same mind set that detonation control is the key to saving the OPG and timing gear. That's why I chose Whipple's calibration, the R&D on their detonation control is second to none.

I was on E85. It is very very hard to detonate E85.

Not really, you don't just run e85 with out a purpose and that purpose is to increase timing so you can still run too much timing with e85. With out a data log there's no way to be certain. Also when you redine to 7,500 with just a bap on e85 it's possible FRP dropped and caused detonation.
