Gen 2 coyote for me as well. Was averaging 28 mpg @ 70 mph for 200 kilometers with 3.73 gears. My 71 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 375 hp 440cid / 727 trans / 3.91 gears at 70 mph would get 6 mpg @ 70 mph.

That reminds me of my Max Wedge 63 Dodge.... 426cid 2-4s on a cross ram manifold/ 4 speed/ 4.10 gears. Car was a stripper 2 door sedan with aluminum bumpers, dog feeding dish stamped aluminum hub caps, bench seat with picnic tablecloth vinyl and 2 batteries in the trunk. I ran out of gas 3 times before I started to believe the gas gauge.. 3 mpg tops. On the strip, the gas gauge went down as fast as the speedometer went up. It only ran decently on Sunoco 260, which was over 100 octane. Fortunately, gas was .32 a gallon in those days.

My Mustang is about as fast and gets 18 mpg when I drive like an ass. But, I have gotten nearly 30 mpg when I drive real nice and easy.

Brother-in-law's Chevelle got less than 1 mpg before it got converted to show duty. Engine is 540 ci, 12/71 GMC blower, beefed TH400, ear plugs required.

As much as I loved my C7 she wasn’t as much raw fun as the Mustang. I put 82k on her in 3 years so it wasn‘t a garage queen.

As for the V4 cylinder deactivation, I ran a Range device to prevent it. I’m not complaining (much ), but she used to run 70mph at ~1400 rpm. Great mileage from such a fast car.

Nice. Currently on an E85 tune, and I'm getting, average combined, around 13.5 to 14mpg with a range of around 200mi per full tank.

Isn't technology great? That 307 CID Coyote not only has better economy than the Roadrunner but it'll probably smoke it in the 1/4 mile as well (not to mention top speed).

I couldn't come in under 1mpg, but I can come close at about 1.4mpg, although I run 114VP.

At that point on the fuel gauge, mine shows 65 miles to E......but I do know why I honestly have never checked the mpg. I think I might check the next time I drive it for giggles. I do say congrats to such great gas mileage you are getting. I typically drive mine in town and only every now and then on long highway drives at a steady 70 mph or so, so I guess I most likely will never see a very impressive mpg number.

This wasn't bad considering the distance and time was a 70mph average. Still over a quarter of a tank left as well so 400 mile range was possible.

My best on a 600+ Km trip was 9.5L/100 (25 MPG) driving at a constant 110 Km/hr.

Average around town is 16L/100 (15 MPG).

The worst was a recent track day - 44L/100 (5 MPG)... but who cares as it was a fun day!

GT/A10 with 3.55 diff.

Same here. I could do 20ish, but only if I try to drive like a grandmother. Most of the times, I drive it like i stole it, I get teens.

OK, that makes me feel better. I had a '71 Mustang with the base 302-2V engine (mere 9:1 compression) and I installed a Crower 286 duration hydraulic cam, Torker 289 intake, Holley 650 double pumper, 3.50 rear gears (for a '66 Mustang 8.0" rear), Hedman headers (had to smash 2 tubes on driver side to clear the steering box; they didn't come out with headers for '71 302 until later & the 70 model worked if I modified it) Lakewood traction bars (car didn't have posi rear) and it ran 14.2 on the 1/4. Best part was it went from a crappy stock 15 mpg to about 17 mpg with all the mods in it. Forgot it also had a J.C. Whitney shift kit for the stock C4 auto that made it chirp on 1-2 shift).

My wife's Edge gets about the same miles per gallon as my GT, and we didn't pay the guzzler tax on her Edge, WTF?

There shouldn't be any GGT on any Mustang GT... Are you sure you paid GGT and not some other inflated line item added by the Dealership or some other State taxes?

GGT is always listed on the Window Sticker as a line item IF it was applicable.

Lou, have checked your mileage with a calculator? Honestly I think your cars reporting numbers are a little optimistic.

I did a short run of 60 miles the other day. Kept my speed to 65 and no wot and averaged 30.1. I’m not saying it’s not possible, just unlikely.

few times driving to work on the interstate i set the cruise to 65, i had reset it at the start of the trip. was getting close to 31 by doing that. 65 is on the slow side for me but it was just going to work, i leave myself extra time, so said why not. AC off, cruise set, windows up. not sure how much of a difference all that makes, probably not much aside from AC. fuel economy went down considerably when i got into stop and go traffic though. but i was impressed myself. i certainly didnt buy this car for great fuel mileage but it's nice to know it can be reasonable if you want it to be for whatever reason.
