We are about 2/3 through a road trip and have about 1100 miles done. In several bumper bumper traffic jams with a majority being 70-80 highway driving this car is averaging over 30 MPG!
I have spent some long hours in the car the last two days and it is just such a comfortable place to be all day long.

Have you hit the mpg "reset" at all during the trip?

The average for the last two days is sitting at 30.4, I had a couple of full throttle runs that brought it down slightly lol

Lou, have checked your mileage with a calculator? Honestly I think your cars reporting numbers are a little optimistic.

I did a short run of 60 miles the other day. Kept my speed to 65 and no wot and averaged 30.1. I’m not saying it’s not possible, just unlikely.

Yesterday when I filled up I had went little over 420 miles and had high 40’s left on the distance to E.
earlier in the day I did the math and it came out to little over 30. It was something like 14ish gallons and around the same 420/430 mark for miles.

I've seen 26mpg's max (calculated) but that's going 85-90mph most the way. I could see getting a few more out of it if I was going closer to 70 the whole time. The gauge always reads high though and not consistent, sometimes a few tenths and sometimes a few miles off.

How? Best I can do is 25. Should I tighten the nut behind the steering wheel :giggle:
I'm actually also curious. Same reasoning, the best I can do is 25/26. I've hit 30 and even 40 but that was right after a reset cruising downhill in sixth gear. That number plummeted the moment I gave it an ounce of throttle.

Perhaps the dark green paint makes it cut through the air easier? That or McQueen has blessed my car with magic lololol

I get 30mpg plus easily on longer runs (UK gallons) and if the on board figures were that far out I would have run out of fuel! If you get 400 miles out of a tank it has to be doing 30mpg or thereabouts.

The car can definitely do it if you keep your speed constant. I’m actually surprised that it doesn’t do better. I’m averaging 19.5 in the couple thousand miles since I got the car (it’s a PP car with 3.73 gears).

My C7 could easily get 35-40 mpg on road trips. I think the best I got was 38 or so on a steady 75mph - 400 mile trip. Of course it was way lighter and had a 2.41 rear with an A8 tranny.

You might want to mention cylinder deactivation as well. Honestly apples and oranges.

But we pay a gas guzzler tax on the GT's?
My wife's Edge gets about the same miles per gallon as my GT, and we didn't pay the guzzler tax on her Edge, WTF?
