LOL. That looks good, might have to give it a try. Thanks for the pics!
I'm really happy with it, application and looks so far. Time will tell how long it stays looking this good :)

I got some KCx Plast Star this week and holy cow, I LOVE this stuff. Has to be the easiest dressing I have ever applied. Very thin liquid, just glides on with a Microfiber applicator. Dries almost instantly. The sheen is a little glossy at first but looks better in a few minutes. No need to knock back as it dries and is there almost instantly. I put it on my daily driver, will see how it lasts soon enough as I drive almost 1k miles a week. I know Perl and even Darkside gets nasty really quickly, darkside at least you can clean the tire and it is still present somewhat for at least a couple of cleanings, Perl not so much....

Gonna get some Gyeon Tire Express at some point to try, I have seen good reviews on it..
KCx Plast Star is a very different chemical than usual for tire dressings. I suspect it has some IPA in the formula, helping it "flash" and dry quicker, in the process limiting some of the gloss. It goes on pretty wet and then turns sticky, which is the cue to stop working it in.

I will say though, Plast Star is not all that good on PS4S's, leaving an uneven splotchy appearance. The waxier sidewall on PS4S is the what causes this, where other tires that have a smoother sidewall seem to be easier to dress, especially with PSS.

As for Gyeon Tire Express, its good but not great, I would easily favor Perl over it.

That is not to say Tire Express is a bad product, rather I think there are some others I would recommend trying before it.

As always, the first that comes to mind would be NV Onyx. The delicious scent is a high point all on its own, but I love the smoothness of the application. Naturally satin in appearance, but can do gloss if you apply heavy.

Onyx | Satin Tyre Gel – Nv Car Care USA

The other would be OG Tire Dressing. This can be applied with a brush or foam/microfiber applicator, can deliver gloss right down to a matte finish, smells nice and offers excellent coverage, which negates some of the price premium. The best part is that it works well with the PS4S's.

OK D, I get the hint. <BSEG> Ordered the OG product even though they have lost their luster with me. Not a bad price but the shipping charges..highway robbery. <grin>
Move to Australia and I'll show you what highway robbery shipping looks like!

I will have to try Onyx. I like the NV products I have so far (snow and Boost V2). OG products don't appeal to me for whatever reason. Don't know why.. I don't have PS4S so I'm good on that front. By the time I need tires the PS5 will probably be the new thing. I have the all season 4 and they seem easier to dress.

A bottle of OG's Tire Dressing showed up yesterday but the car is a dusty mess and will have to wait until the deck project is complete before I can test it.

Many thanks for the OG vid links, D. I watched the first one to the end and I have to say, I was MOST impressed with the product. Plus, he has as much experience detailing as almost anyone else and if he likes it even better than Perl, I HAVE to try it.

But, a new deck project is the prime directive currently but we're very close to finishing.

When we are, I'll be giving Sarah a good bath and really scrub the tires. I may even lift her up and pull them all to do individually.

That vid sold me, amigo. Those M4 tires looked EXACTLY the way I want mine and I promise to report back, sargeant. <smiling>

Love the timber work! I was almost a carpenter/cabinet maker by the way.

Do you have some Tarminator to do a really thorough clean of the tires? It's nasty stuff but seems to be the secret to success. You can also use mineral spirits (mineral turpentine) as well, but that seems to dry out the rubber too much.

Start by cleaning the tires as you normally would, I think you have ReTyre is memory serves me correct. Once you have finished with the rest of the car, and with the tires dry, use the Tarminator or mineral spirits with a junk towel. In both cases, DO NOT apply either directly to the tire, spray it onto the towel and rub like crazy.

Once you can see the tire is completely stripped, then apply the dressing.

That is really good stuff. I ran out a while ago, I replaced with Griot’s Tar and Sap remover. Wanted to give that a try. Will report on that when I use it.

Thanks amigo but I wasn't a bit surprised about your potential vocation. :-)

Do you have some Tarminator?
No, but it's ordered, D and yes, I have ReTyre (I THINK). :-) And thanks for the extra tips on Stoner. I'll be washing her soon as we're on the home straight with the deck project.

Gonna have to get some Tarminator. I have Eulex for heavy lifting on paint and ReTyre. It has worked so far for me but I don't have PS4S tires. Got some straight mineral spirits as well. I've seen Tarminator at my local O'reilly's auto parts, need to get some the next time I'm in there.

Tarminator will work on any tire, not just Michelin's or PS4S in particular. Whatever is in it seems to take your tire cleaning up a notch. It doesn't replace a normal rubber and tire cleaner, nor is it something I would use very often. I use this for prepping new tires, or every 9-12 months as a deep clean reset to an existing set of tires.
