Everybody likes their tires nice and black. Question I have, is there a tire dressing that makes the tires look good, but doesn’t turn them into banana peels as soon as they get wet?

It was my understanding that tire dressing....is for the sidewalls....and not the treads.....?
Of course it’s sidewalls only, although I know people that do the whole tire. Problem is I have to remove the dressing with brake cleaner before going through the water box at the track and was wondering if there is a product that won’t make the tires slick as soon as water hits them.

I just use the Meguiar's ultimate stuff, the gel - not the spray. I put it on with one of those foam detailing 'gloves.' Easy to control how shiny it looks with a little bit of water and it'll last for a couple of weeks. No sling and isn't terribly affected when it gets wet.

Adams Tire Armor. It's basically an Acrylic clear coat so it doesn't wash off like a typical liquid tire shine.

Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel!
Been using it exclusively so far and love it. You can make it as glossy as you want or go for a more satin look. Lasts a good while too!

^^^ Yep.

I use the same product. It does not sling off the tire and does not leave the tire looking like a shiny wet piece of black licorice... it gives the sidewalls the perfect sheen - not over the top and it’s not a natural dull finish either. Sorta like ‘satin’ if comparing to ‘semi-gloss’...

Chemical Guys VRP
Chemical Guys Tire Kicker (Walmart)
When you want them to Pop
Cover All mentioned earlier. from what I have used hands down the best for shine and available at O’Reillys (Superior Products also makes a very good wheel cleaner)

Recently, I've really started liking Hyper Dressing mixed 1/4 for fender wells and tires. Some of the things I like about it are a gallon is only around $20 and makes 4 gallons when diluted for a matte finish, you can spray it on wet tires and plastic parts after a wash and just leave it to dry (it self levels), and it's great for engine bays (Found out about this product on Obsessed Garage).
