Really appreciate your additional feedback, Chef......very helpful. Probably makes no functional/economic sense to change what I have now, but I still am strongly considering the Injen intake just for the clean aesthetics and a bit more intake sound. I'm still running stock tune, but with CVF intercooler and Y - pipe. Both of those additions made a difference in power that I can feel. Not sure what your experience was, but seems to me the Y pipe benefits are most noticeable at low to mid RPMs, which I did not expect.

Installed the airaid mit with a drop in aem dry filter on my 2019. Nice look and fit, not very loud and minor power increase. Still on the stock tune

did the intake resonator delete. used a $5 expanding plug to seal it up.

What does it do? I always wondered what that large tube stuck to intake box was

I assumed it was to
Store air, for wot. Extra air on demand like a capacitor. If I’m wrong let me know

after reading those links, it seems to me that intake sound reduction is the main purpose.

This is how I interpreted it;
It increases air flow and throttle response by keeping the air flow from bouncing back so hard when the intake valve closes. Sort of a cushion effect to keep the air flow speed up in the correct direction. The sound is not by design.
But it is far from the intake valve so maybe it is for sound.

If you look at the 15-17 air boxes, that resonator was located directly before the airbox, right on top of the grille inlet tube. Interesting that now they are between the airbox and throttle body on the mid pipe.

I have a question about what intakes would be compatible with a 19 eb with nx2 turbo and dual valve catch can( vacuum fitting on coupler) Seems many are not the 3.5” diameter that I need.
I currently have the air raid mit with stock air box, but would like an open filter for more turbo noises lol

I know this mod isn't for everyone... But, "I like to build stuff!" One of my off season projects is replacing and relocating my intercooler to the upper grill opening of my 2018 EB Mustang.
This leaves the lower grill opening for a 4" Intake Air System!

I know it's hard to see... But that's a 4" "CAI" pipe below my front bumper!

All done. I filled every weld line, once it’s on you shouldn’t see anything exposed. On bottom etc I didn’t care no one would see it.

weird they didnt fill the joints. Having a metal airbox will retain heat more. If you like DIY stuff you could pick up some inconel sheets to insulate the box. Wouldn't be too bad because of all the flat sheet metal pieces
