What do you guys think of this estimate. I was basically looking to add the Whipple. But I got this estimate along with the S/C. It came out to 15K. I'm not spending all that.

I paid $12500 for my Roush Stage 2 Supercharger installation and OPG installation. This price doesn't look too far off of that. The Whipple kit is typically a little more for cost so I think this quote looks about right. Just my opinion.

Two words self install....
honestly the OPG install is what's running up the price. that's a disassembly. which is a lot of gaskets, parts and time. I wouldn't get it. I don't run aftermarket in my Gen3. The GT350/GT500s don't have them from the factory [billet opg] (albeit gt350s have other problems).
There are a few things I would forgo in that list but it doesn't seem out of bounds. I think @beefcake says he installs them for 1500. shop around a bit. there is also the sting of waiting a long time for a whipple

what's the welding O2 bungs for?

if you feel uncomfortable installing a PD you can always go centri. the install for that is much more simple

also avoid sales tax when you self install.

Gotta pay to play.

Honestly, I’d give Beef or Lethal a call on the telephone and get a quote on the blower itself and everything that was quoted. If you’re set on having it installed, both those places can hook you up as well. I didn’t check where you’re located though.

I can’t comment on the installation cost as I installed (different kit) myself. But, $2600 seems steep. Full pop on the 5w20 oil I see as well.

But my usual answer to which blower is ANY! I don’t think there’s really any poor choices.

Differences in power delivery and max potential limits but for most that are looking for a fast 10 second street car any blower or turbo will get you there.

danno1,

The Procharger and ESS are very easy to install (I have the Procharger with P1X).

Don't stress over the OPG's and crank sprocket. If you don't over spin the engine and bounce off the rev limiter (a non-issue with the A10), and you plan on staying under 700 WHP, you can save money here.

Nearly 6K on my Stage II Procharger with stock OPG's and sprocket. Lots of folks running a similar set up with no issues.

I didn't buy into the OPG/CS thing on my mild street set up with my 2018 (around 650 whp). However, 650 whp is amazing on the street, you can out run 99% of cars on the road with this kind of power and retain reliability as well.

No regrets.

^^^ What LS Chicago said ^^^

My geared down P1X makes excellent mid-range from 3,500 to 5,000. You can effortlessly zing up to 120 with only a few downshifts of the A10 and never tap into the "holy moley" zone.

I wouldn’t like that estimate either… How many miles on the car? On my car with 20k miles, the only thing we replaced when doing the oil pump gear job was the crank bolt. Reused all gaskets. Hours on the whipple install is high, my shop did it in 12.2 hours. Hours on the OPG/CS job I had done was 8.9 hours. O2 bung install? They must not be familiar with these cars, no need for that as the cars have dual wideband from the factory.

Do some shopping around. The shop I used was $90/hour, looks like that shop is $130/hour. Also you can probably save some by sourcing all the parts yourself and just use a shop for the labor. Hook up with some vendors on the site here and they’ll take care of you.

I am running stock OPG & Crank gear on my stage 2 also. I am running at about 850RW, and will be around 900RW soon. I don't hear about many failures with OPG's on 2018 and newer.

+1 for the Procharger, I had a D1 on my 03 Mach. It was a blast on the street and drivability was still there. When I boost my new Mach it will be with a Procharger.

If I was going twin screw, Whipple all the way. My friends have run them on all modular platforms with no issues and big HP

I just want the S/C kit itself. Maybe the H/E but I think that's it. Would that work? I have 6,600 miles on my car. Just a short trip car.

Go anywhere else and skip the OPG’s just stay off the limiter. You should look into installing it yourself or get a mobile mechanic to do it. They are not hard any mechanic can do it. Have it remotely tuned and skip the dyno. I think you can get the price down to around $11,500-$12,000
