Makes sense, if Ford put in resources to design and produce it in the first place there must be a reason for it. Although it does make me wonder why it isn't included on any of the FRPP STB/K brace kits.
Like I say a lot here, any little piece that's on the Performance Pack is there for a good reason.

For what its worth...the nuts for the strut tower studs are the same as the anti sway bar mounts 4pcs for about 6$ at a dealer. I might get to take a drive tomorrow! Still would like to find the brace tower to tower, but I expect it doesn't change things very much?

Yes it will once you have the rest of it installed.

Fyi, I just installed this setup tonight. I went ahead and installed the third firewall brace. I read over this entire thread before the install, and found a lot of conflicting info. I did an impromptu install write up on just this brace. If you're planning to install the third brace you can check it out. It's doable without removing the wiper cowling.

I have to retract the statement about those nuts. The W715135-S440 didn't fit my shock tower studs.... visiting a different dealer to check it out.

Well the S440 ones are the ones I ordered. I haven't actually got them yet, so I can't tell you if they work or not.

What about the W712334-S442 nuts? I did see earlier in this thread that these are the proper ones. I will probably order some of these too, and see if they work.

Thanks,
Shawn

The 2 nuts I saw mentioned in this thread were

W712334-S442
W715135-S450

I was planning to order 4 of each but some clarification would be good. Looking for the nuts needed to mount the cowl extension panel to the firewall.

Installed the Ford Performance strut/cowl brace on my 2018 non-pp. super easy 30min install!!
Do you know if you can remove the engine cover with the bar on without the rear part scraping on the bar? I know it was pretty close with the 2015-17 engine cover.

New dealer says W712334-S440 (no stock) He agreed that the suffix is the coating.
I measured an original and its M10-1.5 I will probably go to McMaster or some hardware to avoid shipping cost.

I ordered from Tasca, so we'll see. Happy to pass on what I find.

Just installed all three of these parts doing. I got the firewall brace on without taking off the windshield wipers, but getting it in there was an exercise in patience, then getting the bolts in and tightened was it’s own separate exercise. I couldn’t get the wiper arm off without a tool so I had to accept my fate of patience.

Everything looks good. The cowl brace anchors to the firewall brace with three bolts. You’re gonna need extra beyond what is already on the car, 7 in total, but like someone said 4 are already on the car. Took an hour altogether.

Ok, the W715135-S450B is not he right nut for the studs on the shock tower. It's close but the thread pitch is different. I contacted my local Ford dealership to order the correct nuts according to what they looked up. The Ford dealership I dealt with was awful, and they sent me W520215-S440, which are huge, and don't seem to fit anything in the entire engine bay. Does anyone know the correct part number for the nuts that attach the actual brace to the strut towers?

Thanks,
Shawn

It'd probably just be easier to order the correct nut through mcmaster, fastenal, or boltdepot. No real need to go through ford. It's just a flanged nylock nut. Sometimes the flanged versions can be difficult to find, so just use a regular nut and washer.

https://www.boltdepot.com/Product-Details.aspx?product=15017

And if you're buying bolts/nuts online, buy 10.9 zinc plated.
