I’ve got a ‘23 non-PP GT Premium with the 20” wheels. Check out the photo attached…

do I have the factory cowl extension brace? Or is this the plastic one people mention? It sure feels like steel to me.
If that is the case and I have the OEM cowl extension tower brace, can I just add a strut tower brace on top of it?

Also, how much of a PITA is it to check the oil with a strut tower bar?

Based on that photo alone, your car looks to be set up the same as a euro GT i.e. it's only missing the tower to tower brace - which is an easy retrofit.

At first I struggled with the dipstick, but then I found this method which makes its very easy :

Don't worry about a solid upper brace blocking the dip stick, it was a pain at first but I stumbled on a method that makes it very easy :
  1. Stand on the left side of the car level with the brace.
  2. Right hand on the right side of the brace, down low just over the top of the dip stick tube.
  3. Left hand on the left side of the brace holding the dipstick.
  4. From the front of the car, point the end of the dipstick under the brace at your right hand.
  5. Feed it down the dipstick hole with your right hand in small movements, maybe 75mm at a time.
  6. Don't apply any force with the left hand, use that hand just to keep the dipstick as vertical as possible and to stop the top of the dipstick from flopping around and / or marking the strut bar.
That method is that easy, it really makes the position of the strut bar a non issue :like:

My performance pack car had the k brace and the strut tower brace. I haven't had the strut tower brace on for years. I can't tell a difference. Maybe if you autocross or roadrace?

While this works, it would never have been an issue if the dipstick itself wasn't made of the flimsiest metal in the world (or they had just positioned the dipstick in a reasonable place) :p
