Hey Guys, So I bought the support brace off ebay and the bolt and nut for the very back of the brace were not with the brace. Finding a bolt is not an issue, but I can't figure out the nut. How do you keep it from spinning when you are trying to tighten it down. I can't get socket on it and videos just show them dropping the nut in the subframe and tightening for the bolt head. Is it a very specific size so it catches the lip on sub frame rail and "pinches" itself so it won't spin while turning the bolt? TIA.

jacked up a fair amount and tires off i was able to contort around to get a standard box end wrench open end on it. took a minute and some definite feeling around but it's do-able.

This may sound silly, but what does subframe support brace do?

Keeps the subframe from from shifting and bouncing under stress, ie heavy acceleration.

Nothing measurable.
I can't speak for the steeda one but the BMR kit felt like a noticible improvement.

the stock subframe isn't very strong imo so I think these kits help keep it from flexing which provides a more consistent alignment when cornering and launching.

compared to my cobra's IRS its way weaker stuff.

The Sn95 IRS was one compromise after another

Bracing and bushing isolators ("stop the hop" Maketing speak) are different add-ons. The OEM design uses compliant subframe bushings for pleasant NVH. GT350 and other high performance variants use harder durometer rubber for these same bushings and others. The isolators eliminate the compliance all together and the braces don't really add much benefit.

Agree with some of that, the bracing is different , but does serve a purpose. It keeps the subframe from "flexing" under load. So in a very hard turn that cheap stamped steel flexes, same with a hard launch. IMO the brace minimizes flex keeping the rear stable.
