I'm using the hitch for my bike rack and cargo carrier and if I ever get good enough to justify dedicated track tires, maybe a lightweight utilitytrailer/tire trailer. I wouldn't want to tow anything heavy with this car, there are much better platforms for real towing.
I'm staying naturally asperated on my Mach 1 so I went with the single-pump KPM800, which the stock Ford FPDM should be able to manage and monitor better than the dual-pump KPM1000 and larger models? There is no difference between the Mach 1 fuel system vs regular GT and swapping pumps was...
Pro might be the sweet spot for SS3 street lighting. I've got a pair of Max fog lights replacing the OEM fog lights on my wife's Subaru and they are overkill for the street and overwhelm the headlights. The single Max fog light I mounted under the Mach 1 bumper beam should be enough to cut...
For anyone contemplating a trailer hitch for their GT350/GT500/Mach 1/Dark Horse, realize the hitch crosses through the diffuser air tunnels and blocks air flow to the differential heat exchanger. Raising the tunnels to reach the heat exchanger is a practical solution but the charcoal canister...
....unbelievable what some places will charge for a piece of hose. Here's what Pegasus charges. Tilton offer's theirs in gray and your local NAPA store probably has the same American sourced name-brand hose even cheaper?
Remote Brake Fluid Reservoir Hose, 5/16 inch ID (Standard)
This hose...
My compliments to Eric for a truly outstanding and well engineered product. I used SS3 Sport driving beams in the fog light openings and one SS3 Max fog beam under the bumper. I'm old school so I used three micro relays to have the option of manual control or automatic control of the beam...
Those bolts should come off without any difficulty. The OEM dry threadlock colors don't always match the usual color designations common with the liquid versions offered in the aftermarket. Torque-to-yield fasteners are not typically used on general service applications, and if they are, it...
I think if you get the blue Ford Performance/Airaid filter, the diameter is reduced enough to fit under the plastic insert. The guy in Australia demonstrates in his video how he used the plastic insert for his Mach 1 but I ended up using a cheap take-off GT500 system and it was a simple drop-in...
Ford was very selective of what off-the-shelf parts they chose for the Mach 1 and the GT350 brakes didn't make the cut. The penny pinchers won that battle.
Yes, I have the Aluminum strut tower brace so I don't know if there are any clearance differences with the steel version. I did trim one end of the aluminum filter bracket to clear the strut brace plus the mounting ear for the sound tube is also removed for better clearance to the steel (blue)...
Wow, great write-up, Alec. I wanted to order my mach 1 with the factory rear seat delete but I couldn't stomach paying so much extra for something that should have been a credit. If I ever get confident enough to trust myself with ForScan, there are a few mods I want to make. Do you have any...
Plenty, there is another GTO fuel line option one inch longer but the shorter ones function fine with plenty of slack. The Radium Filter is a definite upgrade over the Deatschwerks filter I originally mounted to the valve cover.
KPM800 is a single Bosch pump without a post-pump filter. It's a simple drop-in bucket assembly and only takes a few minutes to install. I considered the GT350 fuel line swap but I ended using a Radium Filter with 6-micron microglass media filter cartridge compatible with the E85 I run (true...
Finding the right clips is always a challenge and It's nice when the right hardware is included. For reference is the OEM clip style mounted in the square frame hole to mount the belly pan mounts on my car.
...Note, the battery tender plug in the second image can be wired before or after the switch, I don't know how the BMS system works well enough to know if it matters? Reversing the orientation of the BMS sensor was challenging because of the way Ford's harness supplier used so much tape.
I'm using a Flaming River 500 Amp Big Switch for my quick disconnect needs. I made a new negative cable from the battery to the switch input and flipped the original negative cable over and connected it to the switch outlet. (I made a jumper from the switch outlet to the fender tab junction...
Built in cooler pump, too? These cars have sooooo much potential I wish AWD was available to utilize the extra power the way a BMW M3/M4 Competition can break into single digit quarter mile times in full street trim (reliably) with a simple tune.
